I lost my wife about a year ago the day before our 28th wedding anniversary. I held her hand and told her she could go that I would be ok. I lied. That was the first time I had ever lied to her. I didn’t realize that she would say her last words to me 7 days earlier.

I wonder if part of why they chose Amber’s actress is because she looks like House. She’s basically his female counterpart (as said in the show) and to me it makes her death even more tragic, because she helped Wilson become more “selfish” and voice his desires. She stepped over whenever House was putting his selfishness above him and confronted him head on unlike Wilson’s other girlfriends. Besides being fascinating by herself, she was a great supporting character that didn’t deserve that ending.

I struggle between this series house, and the West Wing, as which was the better written show better acted show, and I can’t make that choice. I was addicted to both of them. When House realizes that he’s killed Amber. He doesn’t realize that in his own way he killed Wilson too.

Hate to come 4 years late to this vid, my son was on v&v ecmo for 3 days. It’s not at all this nice and clean as depicted, it’s messy and bloody. My son bled out of his nose and had to have surgery in the room to stem it. When the end came, it took 3 minutes to die once the machines were turned off, he gasped before it was over. Everlasting nightmares.

Usually house MD patients are on the ultra-extreme side of reactions to any event, this time the reality is far too rosy. Plus, there are anywhere from 2 to 5 people continuously in the room, forget about privacy.

House tried everything and risked everything in his power to save amber for wilson

I like to think that houses hallucinations of amber symbolise the mentally hes in hell

No doctor in his/her right mind would "wake up" a patient just to let her know. that she would imminently die.

Say what you will about the repetitive nature of House. The show hits an emotional core like no other when it wants to.

Wilson has and will always be my favorite character. One of the greatest of this show. I will die on that hill.

This was the absolute saddest thing that happened in house.

I think House denies there being an afterlife so strongly because he knows there is one. If he acknowledges it, that would drive him towards wanting to end his life, to be out of pain and to be free. At the same time, he wants to live the life he has... to solve the puzzles, to be around for Wilson, to face the challenges of living. The afterlife is peace but that might not be enough for him.
The episode where he died from the infarction in his leg, I think he experience something but spent the series denying spirituality, God and an afterlife since it would impede with the work he needed to do.

Honestly, the actors did a fantastic job selling this arc, but the writing itself fell short. Wilson's grief just didn't make much sense when we saw Wilson and Amber like two times together. It felt a bit forced. TBH, none of the romance in House M.D really worked out.

I wanted to hug Wilson & cry so much with him, because he's just turned off Amber's machines & it must have been so hard for him to have done. Poor Wilson.

House M.D. was one of the greatest series ever written and preformed ❤

In 2009, September 30th, my fur-daughter Darryl Rose passed after we woke her up to say goodbye, after the doctors found she was full of White Cell Lymphoma. I know a lot of people may be thinking "she was just a cat". But that scene with Amber being woken up to say goodbye, that's raw for me. I experienced it.

Amber, who obviously died, left a note saying she was Going to get house. This was meant sort of like, since house was stuck in a coma, She wants to go pick him up in the afterlife. But amber actually went to save his life almost

I love when shes putting it all together and you can see the fear. Even when he puts his face next to her, she doesnt look at him, shes still in shock, staring into space trying to comprehend everything. Amazing acting by Anne.
