Neoclassical architecture actually developed in the mid 18th century and was a reaction to the Rococo style. You're video is/would be about Renaissance architecture that ... no ... is not the same thing. 😅
Ответитьwow, blue really be out here talking about neoclassical architecture without even mentioning vienna once even though it has neoclassicisist buildings all along the ring
ОтветитьI like neoclassicism
ОтветитьWAIT YALL CALL MANTOVA “MANTUA”?????? I AM APPALLED ITS AN AWFUL NAME stop translating cities omg
ОтветитьYour uniformitarian exposition about the about the architecture is complete bunk. Those buildings are WAY WAY older than the society you're attributing them to and served completely different functions then what we're told.
ОтветитьThe only people that get me hyped for history and myths fr
ОтветитьFlying buttress?
You said 'butt'... :3
Also I felt that you were unfair on the rococo style
ОтветитьPlease please do more of these videos on architecture!!
ОтветитьContinuing my trajectory across the whole back catalog after the 10-year anniversary of the channel, I must stop and say this: Blue, I love you but Imma have to fight you on that Rialto design by Palladio. That's a bridge by a guy who only ever heard of bridges in folktales and goes for what he knows instead. :P
[incidentally, this is basically what actually happened in some of the synagogues of the venetian ghetto: since Jewish artists weren't allowed to build temple-related stuff -or be architects in general-, synagogues had to hire Christian people who had no idea what a synagogue looks or should look like. So it was kinda "what if church... but also theatre?" Fascinating results. 🙃 ]
Why on earth are you explaining renaissance in the name of neoclassical architecture?? 😭😭
ОтветитьI'd really like to know Blue's opinion on domes.
ОтветитьNgl the domes don't compliment the style of Rome
Ответить🏛️
ОтветитьAll of these are like 8/10 and 9/10 buildings but my minecraft builds make them look like 1/10
ОтветитьWait what happened with the century of no Pope
ОтветитьI very much so want more thoughts on buildings, thank you!
ОтветитьI'd really like to see a video on the history of Hotel design and how modern Hotels look like absolute ass but older Hotels look great because they use older prettier architecture styles
ОтветитьYou talk too much, stick to the point if you want us to keep watching.
Ответитьthis was soo fun to watch and super well researched ! (but dont call rococo a mess crying )
Ответитьhey, architecture student here- why did you keep calling the renaissance neoclassisism? To me, Neoclassisism happened in the early 1900s , even classisism happened around 1800 ? whyyy
Ответитьme finished the video: immediately replays it.
it’s a fascinating subject (im deeply in love w architecture) and your passion for it, blue, and format is enrapturing
Thanks to Washington D.C. and all the European parliament buildings that copied it, I've always known Neoclassical architecture as "the architecture of democracy" or even more broadly "government style".
ОтветитьI would greatly appreciate if you could talk on Georgian architecture including its history, inspiration, influence and themes.
Ответитьfound this video right when I have to make a presentation on Renaissance architecture in Europe; love u blue <3
ОтветитьLoving the battle graphics, great work guys ❣❣💕💕
ОтветитьAntonio Canova died 200 years ago today.
ОтветитьSo what you're saying is:
Rome: Old and busted
Venice and Florence: New hotness
Damn those buildings look amazing
Ответитьvery fun and informative video. thank you.
ОтветитьThank you, this brightened up my day.
ОтветитьI said it when the video came out and I'll say it again. Make art history a series.
ОтветитьHi! Can someone help me learn the difference between renaissance architecture and neo-classical? I though neo-classical was in the 18th/19th century and renaissance is what came after gothic and before baroque.
ОтветитьThe only thing that would have improved this for me would be Ezio climbing different buildings you showed
ОтветитьYESSSS !
Where are the videos about Baroque and Rococo????!!!!
We need it plzzz * - *
To call a temple in a city pagan is something that makes Latin speakers cringe. Pagan means 'country dweller'/ 'from the countryside'. It is basically a Roman term that means hillbilly. The word should not be used as a catch-all term for non-Abrahamic religions... After all we have terms for many of those religions such as Druidism, Hinduism, Taoism, Buddhism, etc.
ОтветитьBrunelleschi is a founder of renaissance architecture. And Winckelmann is responsible of studying classical architecture and art..idk maybe I just don't understand about what and how you speak...
ОтветитьThis video made me sad about most of Germany’s cities, because most of the bigger ones had a lot of these neoclassical buildings only for it to be severely destroyed in WW2, and replaced with blocky, ugly, modern architecture. Go to any German city today, you wouldn’t find any of these anywhere.
Ответитьcould someone plz tell me the name of the soundtrack ? :"(
Ответитьthanks Blue, you're helping me out with reviewing history of architecture ( ;∀;)
ОтветитьFascinating stuff as always! Out of curiosity, I learned via one of Jacob Geller's videos of the art series "Carceri d'invenzione" by Piranesi and would love to know what your thoughts are on that
ОтветитьI really enjoyed this blue. I do hope you do more like this.
Ответить“They were shocked, and of course they were. Look at it, it’s ✨pretty✨”
Beautiful and really interesting
Everyone should have at least DOME and AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER REFRENCE on the Overly Sarcastic Productions Bingo cards
ОтветитьThese videos are perfect. Please do more.
ОтветитьI hate how modern architecture is so boring.
Ответитьdamn, we need more neoclassical buildings
Ответить
