they supercede teh queen because they sense she is not mated properly or just is of low quality. it has nothing to do with the number of nurses.
ОтветитьI just bought me behive and ordered nuc for April delivery. I have time to wstch and learn before picking up bees in the spring. I enjoy the videos. Thanks
ОтветитьAny reason why you didn't spray the bees before you released them out of the shipping container?
ОтветитьDoug a real bee guy! Thanks!
ОтветитьVery nice ,italy like.
ОтветитьExcellent teacher
ОтветитьNew subscriber here....thank you!
ОтветитьQuestion - should we put two packages in the same box, one with a queen and the other without? Asksing, because that is what it looked like was done in the video.
Great video!!!
Thanks,
Sean
I don't have any bees but the video sure was interesting. Thanks for all the information.
ОтветитьA lot of great information! Just starting out & subscribing ✨Thank you so🙏🏾✨💞
ОтветитьHello
We watch your videos and as a new beekeeper I have all new equipment
Some of this stuff smells like pine sap. We do not have any seasoned boxes. Is there any thing we can do to make the boxes more appealing to the bee?
Thanks!
ОтветитьVery good with all those little details that can give you big problems, thanks alot!
ОтветитьWhen you do bee packages, what sort of cut off ratio would you suggest for determining, there's too many dead bees on a package versus not too many and the package is fine after receiving packages (& ideal window to watch these ratios by)?
ОтветитьI hung my queen cage in between the frames with a bamboo stick then I placed my bee-bus in front of the hive with the big hole facing the hive entrance and they just marched right in NO SHAKE, NO SUGAR WATER, NO SMOKE.
great video thank you for not smoking or sprying the bees with sugar water is totally unnecessary
Ok so I see you put a 'seed' bag on top of a large amount of bees 🐝 then you smash them with the cover?
Ответитьwhere do I go to pick up a bee package with the queen? I live in Lansing, MI.
ОтветитьI am hoping to start beekeeping in the next year or two. I am learning a lot of great info from your videos. I did not know you could put two queens in one hive. Keep being the great wealth of knowledge that you are!
ОтветитьLoving this guys videos
ОтветитьNewbie question: What's in the can?
ОтветитьI like your method of not shaking the bees into the hive. Just let them march.
ОтветитьLooking at starting a honey business here in Russia and watching your videos is helping a lot
ОтветитьI recently attended a beginner beekeeping class, three days, and I'm reading the book that was given in the class, "beekeeping for dummies". I don't normally like the dummies books, but I know nothing about bee keeping and the book is very informative. While searching for beekeeping videos I found you, I was hoping to gain a different prospective on beekeeping. After watching your first video where you said that everyone has a different way of beekeeping, I was hooked. I definitely need the reinforcement of what I've learned from the class and book, but it's great seeing you're prospective. For instance, I was taught to shake the bees from the package. However, I like the way that you just allowed the bees....well to do what bees do. Your way seems to be the more natural way of installing a package of bees. Thanks for the education!
ОтветитьWhat an excellent way to move the ladies to their new home!
You really love your bees! I wish all bee-keepers had the same attitude. Sometimes, dollars, cents, and lack of time leads to bad practices.
Where in GA do you get your bees?
ОтветитьI'm in no way a bee keeper, just say this on my recommendations, but are you having like dozens of queens? or is this all under just one?
ОтветитьDo you feed your bees when you just put them in ? Edit ,I see you did at the end 😄
ОтветитьWhy 2 package bees ain't there 2 qweene s
ОтветитьYou need to put the screen facing out 90° from the frame so the other Bees can get to her if you put her flat like you’re showing and you have the other room next to it the bees can’t get to her mouth and a tender her
ОтветитьDoes knocking the bees down like that pose any threat to their health. Could they break a wing or antenna??
ОтветитьGreat How-to video❤
ОтветитьNot sure of there is anything a guy can do, but the bees seems be making what I'm calling "foney-comb" or Funny Comb. Any tips or just let them do their thing?
ОтветитьI love this method. Installing bees tomorrow and going to try it.!
ОтветитьThat's the first time I've seen it done like that. Thank you
ОтветитьGood way for the queen to fall down.
ОтветитьWe get our bees today! This was very helpful!
ОтветитьThe only thing I found questionable about that technique was not securing the queen cage to the frame with that pre-attached clip or a rubberband. I DO like your technique of allowing the bees to migrate into the deep box frames at their leisure, without a shake-out. Good Tips !
ОтветитьAm I correct: did you put 2 boxes of bees into 1 hive, with 2 queens? We have ordered 2 boxes of bees, to come in a few days, and were under the impression that they would go into 2 distinct hive boxes, with I queen per hive.
And what about front feeders, should we use them? That’s what we have used in the past. Thank you kindly.
Hii ster bees number asb
ОтветитьWe'll done
ОтветитьDid you install two packages with one queen into the same hive?
ОтветитьI have enjoyed it
ОтветитьLove this video. I wish I could hear it.
ОтветитьAm i seeing things ,Did he install 2 packages in one hive ??
ОтветитьI'm in NW Indiana I just found your channel. Thank you for putting this all together
ОтветитьLOVE this package installation approach! Great instructional video, thanks for doing it.
ОтветитьWhat company did you buy your bees from
ОтветитьI tried a very similar method of not shaking the box. I recommend this method!
ОтветитьHi Doug. Thanks for sharing! How do you establish a brand new hive with a new brood box and packaged bees?
ОтветитьThanks so much for all of the positive feedback on this video! I have received many comments on social media about how this video helped them install their packages. That is what these videos are all about! Helping beekeepers have an extraordinary experience in beekeeping!
Don't forget to watch till the end to get the 5 tips on keeping your packages alive!
