Giveaway is closed! Thanks to all who have entered. I will have a video out asap announcing the winner!
ОтветитьSept 2023. It’s now $429. Looks like I’ll be dragging my dethatcher around with my lawn tractor…
ОтветитьGreat vid...how long does it take to fully recharge the batteries?
ОтветитьJust make a 40v variant
I have more 40v batteries than their 18v ones
Jimmy. $459.00 !!! Wow that's a lot vs sun Joe?? Please advise. Love your vids!!
ОтветитьBetter than sun Joe?? Please advise. Thanks
ОтветитьThank you young man! Very clear, uncomplicated, and helpful review.👍
ОтветитьQuestion: Do you recommend using this on St. Augustine grass?
ОтветитьGreat video. Just like their battery lawmowers and every other battery powered tool for that matter, it’s basic physics. The more the resistance, the greater the energy required to overcome it.
ОтветитьFFFFFFFFFFFFFF that at that price! Ill just get a sun Joe and plug it in....
ОтветитьThe scarified works MUCH better as a dethatcher than the actual dethatcger tines
ОтветитьYou could use a lawn sweeper
ОтветитьI’m out
Ответитьi knew you would give me all the information i needed to make a decision on this, thank you!
Ответить$400? Whew! I'm gonna need Ego to come out with a thatcher/scarifier because that's the only way I would even consider spending that much money!
ОтветитьI'm! Disabled veteran and I would love winning this, as it would make my life easier
ОтветитьJust ordered one, can't wait. Fu extension cord!
ОтветитьJimmy you think this unit would have enough juice to dethatch 4100 sq feet?
ОтветитьAre you using this on a st Augustine lawn? I imagine the grass type would make a difference
ОтветитьIs you can get 6amp batteries the machine runs much better and longer.
ОтветитьI’m needing Toro engineers to work double time to expand their 60v line to include a dethatcher & aerator before I invest in another system for those. It would be cool to see Toro include a rotary scissor attachment with their power head and a 60v reel mower!
ОтветитьThis should have been a 40v machine.
ОтветитьI will hate you less when my yard looks as good as yours. Alot of man hate here. Lol. You did a nice job on that yard of yours. I am buying a dethatcher today. Wish me some damn luck. 😂
ОтветитьWill this slice up the soil enough for overseeding? (after you rake up the thatch of course)
ОтветитьI have a Greenworks dethatcher and dealing with the cord has to be the hardest part of the job. Love that battery options are becoming available now.
ОтветитьI was looking for a battery Ryobi scarifier/ dethatcher but there was nothing here in the 40v range so I could use the batteries i already have on hand with the house mower and blower.
Ended up with the Greenworks battery unit. I used the scarifier for a job and it was very good. Did an incredible job . And the plus is i didn't have to go pick up a hire machine nor return trip it in clean condition and pay expensive$200 hire fees. Hah. Used two batteries pretty much over and over so a third would work better on larger yards like that. Have to take into account cooling down time for each depleted battery plus charge time. Approx forty mins plus 120mins. Not the best but no#3 battery would sort it out on those big yards .
Plus next time I'll section each yard out and scarify each section after prepping it down to 15mm hoc.. Then charge the battery while I finish mow over that area and prep the next area down to 15mm. I can recharge after each area rather than all at once.
Amazing results now the grass has regrown beautiful.
what sort of grass you have in your lawn?
ОтветитьIf it used the 40v batteries I'd grab one, got a handful of 40v ryobi yard tools/batteries already but no 18v in in the ridgid 18v tool category. 😕
Ответитьwhy didnt they use the 40v like the mower that i have
ОтветитьI think I'll wait until Ryobi wakes up and does this for their 40V platform (and comes without batteries, since I already own their 21" 40V mower with PLENTY of extra batteries). AND gets more realistic on pricing.
ОтветитьThey really need to offer a tool-only version for all of us who have tons of Ryobi batteries already. They sold this in the UK for like a year before it was available in the US and on UK Amazon you can buy it as tool only for like $220 (but to get it in the US you'd have to pay $100 shipping)
ОтветитьI was all in until I heard the price. 3X more than their competitors. That's crazy!
ОтветитьThey need a gas model 😁
ОтветитьI've been waiting for that to come out but $429. I can't see paying that much even though I have alot of Ryobi tools and yard stuff thanks for the sharing and post
ОтветитьUtah?
ОтветитьAny idea if it will be offered as a bare tool only?
ОтветитьDo they sell a tool only? I already have 4 batteries.
ОтветитьWonder if they’ll come out with a 40v version
ОтветитьThis is what I want for my birthday.
Ответить$430 is hard to justify just to avoid cord management, even for someone with spare money. It's just not used enough and esp if it's not a big yard. I think someone with a big yard would just go rent a gas one. By the way, they still call it an aerator, so we know what they do with feedback.
ОтветитьDo I want one? Yes, I do, however Sunjoe now has their own cordless version out for approximately $80 less. I'm not sure I could justify paying for either tool, especially when you consider how seldom it would get used.
ОтветитьReally disappointed that this isn’t part of the 40v line. Also, like you said a lot of people probably already have some Ryobi tools, so this only coming in a combo box and not tool only is frustrating.
ОтветитьSurprised it's not the 40 volt system.
Ответитьthe price point is definitely a deal breaker with the competitor costing half as much. i think i'll pass.
ОтветитьGreat review, I just wish EGO would catch up…
ОтветитьA little short-charged for me & my 12,000 sqft, 😆. Otherwise, I do love the cordless aspect.
ОтветитьJimmy! Nice video. Good call on the verbiage. I had the pleasure of visiting the TTI facility in Anderson, SC for my job this past week and got to test this thing out and gave them the same feedback on using “aerator” as I do not find this to be the primary function of this machine.
Ответить40v!!! Ryobi are YOU LISTENING?
ОтветитьHi Jimmy, great review! Do you know if the larger one+ batteries will also fit in this machine? Such as the 6.0 or 9.0?
ОтветитьI have a sunjoe dethatcher and as much as I love the sunjoe, I’m heavily into Ryobi line and this would be a great addition! I hope they come up with a 40v version too
