I never learnt about this. I'm glad this backs up my worries about normalisation of violence, how people speak of it as morally neutral just as a protest against "cucked liberals".

While they were still digging, no one asked why.

When they finally finished digging, we asked why.

“It’s for you you!” They finally replied.

This is just completely wrong
1) Mussolini was widely popular in Italian society, people didn't live in a reign of terror and were mostly happy with their improving conditions under Fascism, the regime was also tolerant to political enemies and mostly resorted to exiling them
2) Mussolini fought against the brutality of the Blackshirts and opposed many of the attacks they carried out
3) The whole legend about Giacomo Matteotti being a brave freedom fighter is bullshit, he was mostly a coward and his own party made fun of him very often too. The discourse he made was full of blatantly false informations without proof (this was even admitted by the head of the Socialist party in a letter)
4) The Fascist regime in Italy literally fell because they were too tolerant with opposing ideologies inside the part, so I don't know where you got the whole discourse that Italy was a one-thought police state
5) While German war crimes were terrible you strangely didn't talk about the American and Angloid war crimes in the South which made Fascism survive and gave the neo-Fascist party (the MSI) much voters from the South.

This doesn’t just apply to the new normal. In america this attitude is applied to police brutality, institutionalized racism, and personal racism. Americans have no notion of what racism actually looks or feels like, they have been so conditioned to its normality. Even otherwise progressive people have said unbelievably heinous things to me and other people who look like me, because I’m white and it’s impossible to be racist towards someone who’s white. The intolerance runs so deep and is so omnipresent that it affects how everyone interacts with everyone else. The absurdity of this intolerance is that it serves no purpose whatsoever. There are no institutions which require racism to function. There is no economic benefit. There’s hardly even political benefit, as both parties have managed to normalize relations with black communities (the Democrats are certainly more representative of American blacks but it would be a lie to say that the Republicans lack for black votes). It’s no surprise that the Black Lives Matter protests achieved nothing. Americans, even supposedly progressive ones, are unwilling to exercise the self-reflection necessary to change the US from a slave state into one that values tolerance.

Kraut, this video is really well done. I one day want to make a video series on the Modern History of Southern Italy and the Italian “Southern Question”. I truly find interesting the role of fascism in Italy who, unlike the Nazis, still truly have a legacy in Italy, you still will hear people singing fascist songs, of which most know the lyrics, most famously “Faccetta Nera”.
And I’ll remind everyone of what is happening in Italy right now, with our new Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, who literally called National Liberation Day, “an ambiguous date” and who I consider a fascist. People thought fascism was dead in Europe until it restarted rearing its head with the immigration crisis, and the utter economic chaos of nations such as Italy. This time though, the people are voting the Fratelli d’Italia, even when I think most know that it’s just a re-branded Movimento Sociale Italiano, which was the far-right wing party of Italy during the 1980s, only surpassed in extremism by Fascist terror groups.
What I’m saying is in many ways an appeal to any Italians who will read this comment:
“Non lasciate che il fascismo ritorni in Italia, ha già ucciso troppe persone e alla fin dei conti, ha portato solo male per il popolo italiano.”

Friendly reminder to not engage bad faith actors. Deny them the dopamine hit they don't deserve by not responding. It's ultimately their fault that they are such losers that lack a real source of excitement in their pitiful lives. You don't need to embarrass them, you just need to let them sit in silence and hasten their realization of just how badly they've failed at growing up and at life.

Liberals believe there is no truth, only tactics and process. So, given that everyone's views are equal and worthy of respect, we can only judge people based on how they promote their views- not the views themselves. This is a psychological trick created by the ruling class to keep any would be resistant intelligentsia frozen and ineffective. Liberal democracy is a failure. There are correct views that must be promoted- outside and beyond the limited avenues allowed to us by the masters of liberal "democracy". I am a socialist and am against fascism. But, like the fascists, I understand that liberal democracy is a farce and will have to be destroyed.

This perfectly describes modern day far left extremism in the western world. Like Antifa a terrorist organization that is not afraid to use political violence to get their way. Unfortunately it seems like these terrorists and their tactics of political violence and downright barbarism for their cause is increasingly accepted as “Normal” here in the west.
These tactics are used by both political wings and we must stand against this terrorism wherever we see it. We mustn’t let our civilization fall into barbarism and violence again.

Having grown uo in Hungary, and being half hungarian, this video sent me into a black rage.

While there were no (overt) murders, the general attitude of normalising the trampling of the rule of law is present and obvious in most of hungarian society. Worse still, the tolerance of it has led to the hokders of power to be able to push their narrative on most every media channel, putting the gullible and the underinformed on side.

I wish School was better at teaching WW2. I was told about the atrocities of Hitler at least 3/4 times at various points but I have no idea what happened during WW1 or it's aftermath, there was no mention of Russia's revolution and the rest of the Axis powers just gets straight up ignored. Even America's involvement isn't taught, it's literally just Hitler. Until I was 20, my understanding of WW2 was basically "Hitler killed 6 million Jews and British Children were evacuated to the Countryside" which y'know, ignores like 95% of what actually happened.

When I was asked to give an essay in history class, I stood out as a maverick, I was the only one in class that did a report on Italian fascism, the vast majority of the class did essays on Nazi Germany, only one other student in my class did an essay on Showa Japan. To me, the rise of fascism in 1920s Italy, is a more fascinating, omitted, yet has important lesson to learn than the rise of Nazism, because this brand of fascism can happen under anyone's watch, and under everyone's nose, mass apathy is the main tool for fascism. What I dislike about modern media, is the hyperfocus on Nazi Germany, every story, every interpretation, every document has been done to death, because it's an easy topic for lazy historians, and money grubbing networks, channels in the US, such as A&E and the History channel were guilty of this. The constant focus on the nazis, effectively cancels out other events that led to WWII, the Italians were at war before the nazis, the Italian invasion of Abyssinia was one of the ugliest wars in history, the Italian air force bombed Abyssian homes, the Italian army used chemical weapons, and fascist Italy established concentration camps, enslaving the Abyssinian people, and subjected them to hellish brutality, the last surviving example of Italian fascism is Eritrea, an African country where the legacy of Mussolini was carefully persevered. Furthermore, the allies did not end fascism in Europe, both Franco Spain and Portugal's Novo Estado endured until the 1970s, sadly, the lessons of these regimes are ignored in favour of remembering glorious victory against the nazis, building them up into the propoganised strawman, for someone to knock down, but in the end, it's more likely than ever than the strain of fascism, that infected Italy will happen again, because most of us are ignorant to this story of fascism.

Watching this back nearly a year after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, this video resonates as strongly as ever. There are all sorts of people who think they’re smarter than everyone because they choose not to give a damn about a foreign war, instead saying they won’t pick a side. In reality, that’s all the Russian state truly needs. Putin, his cronies, and Yeltsin before him only needed Russians to be indifferent to their abuses and subversion of democracy. Now, on the international stage, all they need is for people to not care as they invade Ukraine, and even their outdated military could eventually do something that they could spin into a success. The vast majority of people are never going to be fanatics for any single ideology, but a bunch of people who choose not to give a damn is a powerful tool for the wicked.
