Ngl, I’ve been playing Pokémon since the 90’s, and I dont get the drama. Catch ‘mon, train ‘mon, build teams and destroy your enemies. That’s what it’s all been about to me. Anything else you can do is just a bonus in my mind. I can deal with minor inconveniences or slight changes as long as I can still do the basics. If I want something deeper, I wouldn’t be playing Pokémon im that moment, I’d go play Monster Hunter or something. That being said, I dont buy every game. I usually skip a few gens so I can go back and transfer my favorite Pokémon from years ago into the new game lol like I literally just care about using the ‘mon I’ve had since DS and brought along. They’re my main line up, but I make other teams too for different reasons whether it’s grinding XP, Looking for rare items or whatever. Idk I just never took Pokémon that seriously, but they are way overpriced imo. They should really be like 40 bucks. But if I want a serious game to grind, I’ll load up Warframe and torture myself. Pokémon is just a chill tome game for me.

pokemon black is the only game in the series that i’ve played and also finished. i loved every minute of it, even as someone who doesn’t care about the franchise that much. i never had a 3ds to play the games on that system, but when sword and shield came out, that killed any motivation to try out another game.

Pokemon bw2 are the only main series sequels

Everything after gen 6 was much worse. Gen 8 finally killed Pokemon for me personally. Gen 5 was different but not that bad like gen 7-9

I stopped playing Pokemon Black mid game.
The Pokemon design was just so fucking bad like they ran out of ideas, the story fucking boring.
Platinum was Pokemon's Peak for me. But I loved HeartGold as well, Emerald was the favourite one of my childhood.

Also shame Arceus ended up being better than scarlet

Aye, I can at least respect Black/White for introducing the Tynamo line, literally the only Pokemon to not have any weaknesses outside of cancelling its ability.

You can't go from OG god tier games like emerald, D&P, Platinum and HGSS then give us B&W ! No wonder we were all pissed off, B2W2 did make up for it somewhat but the damage had been done, Ugly designs/no older generations/boring map/boring towns/boring music/forgettable characters (apart from N tbh) but very cool dragon legendaries...! I think you nailed this game to a T (almost!) I started playing red in 1999 on my Gameboy colour and I'm still playing sword & shield in 2024 (yet to get S&V of course.) The pokemon franchise has a whole has just lost something special, Nobody could ever top what D&P&P/Emerald/HGSS left behind, ever.

Gen 5 sucked ass and gens 6 and 7 are 100x better than it, though gen 4 reigns supreme solely because of platinum

I believe x and y was the last game they did great on, the new ones are trash. Just sketches off random things and called it pokemon. But black and white is goated, one of the best games if not the best.

i loved b&w, i couldnt beat the bug gym, so i heavily leveled up till i could, not knowing types lol, but i beat every over gym, i loved the game since then, great story and stuffs, i missed out on pokétransfer so ma bois are stuck, but hey, i love them so much, i hope it lasts forever (unlike them gameboy games with batterys yk) but i love it so much

Serperior is peak design, cool idea, should have been dragon type tho. And same with samorott, should have been steel.

Actually the starters are cool. The design for snivy is meh, to the point that servine is cooler, but that’s it.

Maybe the reviews have gone up over time, but when I look up reviews for Black and White they are really good, and I also don't remember anyone hating on them.

No one will ever change my mind, since this game came out and even before, there was never any game as good b/w as well as b/w2
