Similarly, why are they not an amalgam of other species as are the Youcha and why do they have a single home world?

In last one month I have seen all these movies except first Predator movie and Alien Covenant.
I started with recent movie Prey and I like it very much.

I have enjoyed each of the movies, including 3 and Resurrection. I really am sorry it didn't go a different way but, we do not always get what we want, but if we try real hard, we get what we need....

Alien Covenant is the sequel to the prequel(Prometheus)of the whole Alien franchise. First Alien vs. Predator Lance Hendrickson played the real Weyland. Aliens, Alien 3 he played a "synthetic person". So in Alien is set close to our present day long before Prometheus and works in the framework of the archeological cave glyphs.
