Reminds me of the movie The Raid from 2011. It's not sci-fi but action/thriller.

Just rewatched this movie and it absoultely holds up

I wouldn’t say masterpiece there are some things that are not as good as the original. The main villain from the original has at least a personal connection to the hero and has more personality.

From the trailer alone, I can tell this is nowhere near as good as the original. Some movies should not have remakes. Nothing can touch the original Judge Dredd.

I thought it is going to be another crappy remake, this is why I decided to give it a try in 2023 because I didn't have anything better to do. Damn, was I wrong. Loved it. The setting felt so realistic, that I felt the dread of this anti-utopian society. The action kept me under pressure for the entire movie. 9/10. Would recommend.

P.S. Karl Urban is epic, as always, Olivia Thirlby is🔥. Lena Headey did a great job portraying the ruthless and tough female antagonist.

Too bad i didn't see this in theaters. When it came out on Epix, I couldn't stop rewatching. Thankfully Best Buy just came out with a steel book for this movie in HD4K.

This movie takes place in 2080, Joseph Dredd was "born" in 2066.

This Dredd is a 14 year old cloned badass.
