The child should be around family during the grieving process- the mother should not be passing responsibility over to someone else. I get that it is a devastating time when you lose a loved one, I’ve been there myself and my daughter stayed with her father for a week when I lost my beautiful Father because I could not function and had to plan the funeral etc - it was a devastating time. The mother should have let the bio father look after the child if it was too much for her
