There is a man—Reinhold—who consider that climbing a great mountain is a dance between the mountain and the climber to reach successfully the summit; indeed he respect the mountain and in return the mountain lets him live to enjoy the summit.

As he said, humans are not good at anything except going beyond what animals can do using intelligence. We are hunters only using tools. So, that is where humans should focus their energy. The mind is amazing.

I'm nothing close to a mountaineer, but I have to consider Hillary, , Norgay, and Meissner as the 3 best mountaineers of all time Just look at the clothing Hillary an Corgay were wearing. The summit should have been impossible, but it wasn't. Messner said he would solo Everest without supplemental oxygen.Everybody on the planet said it was impossible u\thought it was impossible, untils he did it.,

Reinhold Messner is my Hero I respect him so dearly. Reinhold Messner is an astonishing and incredible man and in my Hubble opinion the best Mountaineer ever to have lived. He achieved the extraordinary human strength willpower and survived it all to live a long happy life. Reinhold Messner is without question the most incredible mountaineer ever lived. To do this solo without bottled Oxygen and very basic equipment of that time is absolutely incredible and astonishing achievement. you must comprehend just want this man achieved it astonishing.
My absolute and total respect and love for this incredible man.

Peter Habeler was a good climber but he never had Messner's charisma. He is highly regarded in his home village of Mayrhofen, but even there not without his critics.

I must stress that, IF not for the Rolex Adverts of the 70s, as a small child then, my curiousity about watches and adventure, I would not have really known who Messner was.....so, marketing experiment or not, I owe my initial Education to the Rolex Adverts of the times (NEWSWEEK/TIME/National Geographic)......

Besides his fame, he chose climbing over other peoples lives. He pontificates too profoundly….
