Command and Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath - 15 Years Later

The multiplayer could be easily cheese, a friend and I always played scrin and used a particular infantry unit that was fast and could be upgraded to shoot down aircraft. They were cheap and effective and always beat the player that went for endgame units.

Short answer YES and YES, but i prefer Tiberium Wars more since it more stable and dont have fun moonwalking mechs : D

Tbh it holds up 9/10 just hate slow recharge is for tiberium boosting abilities like field drop bomber for Nod or Scrin field drop meteor otherwise i love it

Fun fact, Kaine exists in ALL CandC timelines. At the end of Red Alert, if you win as the Soviets, you find out Kaine was a high ranking soviet, working in the background to gather power and resources to create his own army which he called Brotherhood of Nod.

The world skirmish mode is broken depending on what the AI or you pick. Some units are auto win no matter what you have. You have to actually battle to win. Some of the AI factions become OP in random skirmish. They haven't fixed these errors in 15 years.

I tried to give C&C4 an honest try. I can't get over how they lock units behind grind walls.

Masterleaf and cybert , bikerush and everyone else are keeping this game alive!

PLUS the engine developers, programmers, and art directors clearly made something that can last the test of time.
Even without mods this game looks gorgeous.
With mods it is on par wotj modern AAA games all thanks to the solid foundations made by the OG developers!

to think that there were allegedly 2 more expansions planned, it saddens me greatly. also the lack of 'the forgotten' as an official playable faction is a bit annoying.

C&C 3 & LOTR BFME 2 were the glory days of RTS. RIP EA LA, you died and the company followed in spirit.

You forgot the last great one was actually Red Alert 3, which was released back in 2008.

Really appeciate a video like this coming out, I'm a loving fan of RTS, C&C3: Kane's Wrath was seriously unlike any other RTS i've ever played. I'm not even a PC player either lmao, my first RTS was Aliens Vs Predator Extinction when i was like 6yrs old, fantastic little RTS game btw, then Halo wars came out and i was hooked, But once i got my hands on Kane's Wrath?? on the 360?? I was mind blown.

all the little things and the quality of this game was mindblowing to me at the time, the grim dark vibe, spawning in a redzone or some Yellowzone maps and hearing the windy desolate air, looking at the loving detail the devs put into the environment. The dried and cracked soil, tiberium cystals sprouting everywhere from the earth, the heavy polluted clouds casting their shadows over the ground.
Every little animation of infantry, the cute idle animations of the GDI engineer, bro will put his little suitcase on the ground and take a sip of water if you watch him, select him ready for an order and he'll pick up his suitcase and get ready to run for the olympics. Don't get me started on his death animation. Breaks my heart thinking about it.
The qaulity of this game destroys me because nothing like this will be made again likely.

Wonderful campaign, new cool units and subfactions, global conquest mod and new skirmish maps. Dont fix something that works could be the title of the game.

Yknow I was wondering why my recent replay of cnc felt so difficult,
Probably because it's retail and not a cracked version of probably 1.0

There is a mod that reverts the C&C3 updates that mess with the campaign.

This game is a masterpiece

Kane's Wrath is amazing but the game could have been even better if the factions were much better fleshed out.

the fact that Steel Talons don't have Mammoth MK2 is a crime against humanity.

but anyways. I think my favorite faction is Black Hand because of how religious cult zealots they are, obsessed with fire and burning stuff.
and Confessor Cabals are great as well when you upgrade them with green particle lasers.
and I would even say the Reckoner is a great unit to deploy inside your base, right next to Nod war factory and garrison them with infantry.
they self repair and protect your base very well.

30 fps max in game....forget to play in 2023....

The blackhand are quite over powered, the trick is to walk the flame units right up to buildings and let them be. They can pretty much only be killed air units.

Me a and a friend used to pair hammerhead and flame units the the. Sent them to just fly around the enemy base. If it does end the match the enemy ends up to crippled to fight back

Just downloaded this a few weeks ago. Cant get my original discs to work😢

I love the new graphics in all the games, I just didn't care for some of the newer game play mechanics but that comes with the territory so...what are ya gonna do?

Excellent review / revisit. C&C 3 was great, yet Kane's Wrath made it even more interesting. I agree with the critique on some of the missions, but for skirmish and online the new factions and units were great additions.
