When you watch this after the film Oppenheimer and realize Christopher Nolan just made a lesser version of this film.
ОтветитьI watch this almost every day. At first Naoko's death breaks me, but now I think Jiro is just so selfish. Coming from a wealthy family he was afforded that luxury of being able not to notice certain things. Like when he takes the train to go work at Mistubishi and he was surprised at all the country people walking the tracks into the city. He sends Naoka a note saying he can't live without her, causing her to leave the hospital to her doom. He says he wants to create beautiful planes but created one of the most lethal killing machines of WW2.
ОтветитьI can’t recall the last time I cried as much as I did watching this. Miyazaki's historical melodrama is breathtakingly gorgeous and not only does it evoke strong emotions in viewers, but also encourages them to reflect on the past and present. After years of being inspired by Italian aeronautical designer Caproni and dreaming of creating his dream plane, aviation-obsessed engineer Jiro Horikoshi finally managed to fulfill his ambitions. However, his world comes crashing down when he learns that his prized creation will serve as a weapon used for battle in World War II.
Highlighting the significance of pursuing one's dreams and celebrating inspiration and craftsmanship, The Wind Rises is an essential Studio Ghibli watch that everyone should check at least once.
Still favorite ghibli😊
ОтветитьThe Japanese did nothing wrong.
Neither did the Germans
"The Farewell Masterpiece"
Jontron: That one didn't age quite so well.
somebody compared this movie to Nolans Oppenheimer.
But the film has an eerie beauty to it. talking about Manns Magic Mountain, tuberculosis, war etc.
in anticipation of the boy and the heron
Who watch this before Oppenheimer?
ОтветитьSo this is where that meme came from 🤣🤣
Ответитьwhats the name of music piece played during first half of trailer?????
ОтветитьMy friends like Ghibli, but nothing I say can make them watch/appreciate this movie. It’s one of my favourite Ghibli movies, up there with Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. Maybe it’s the fact there are no spirits, creepiness or murder like in Prin Mononoke. I find this movie interesting and beautiful and exciting, but other of my friends just don’t see it, they think it’s boring, but it is an incredibly beautiful and realistic masterpiece. (And very sad too. I cry at the end every time.)

ОтветитьThe story of this movie made me cry and happy, the meaning of a bitter life, scared by the urge to live for the sake of a career, the meaning of a love life to legitimize each other's sacrifices of husband and wife and wife with full of enthusiasm to fight the disease that continues to give encouragement to her husband to succeed. .and I really like this movie Ghibli you are the best I like your work I am interested in your work because there are many morals and civics in the sense of human life good job Ghibli
ОтветитьI mean lots of anime studios will come and go but there's no one who can match the animation level like Ghibli gives to us ❤
ОтветитьUna obra maestra. Hermosa de inicio a fin. Debe ser de las más bellas jamás dibujadas.
ОтветитьThat should've won best animation at the oscars.
ОтветитьThis trailer will always give me goosebumps like it is doing currently.
Kinda funny to the editor who worked their butt off to make this, saying it's the farewell masterpiece, when here we are nine years later and Miyazaki got pulled into doing oooonnneee more. His talent and the talent of this crew is unmatched though.
"The farewell Masterpiece."
Oooh, Miyazaki! You old scamp, you! 😆
The flight he made rised with wind but his love lost in the wind💔
ОтветитьUp there with the best

ОтветитьSong name please
ОтветитьThis movie, although not miyazaki's last as we thought, still is one of the best of the ghibli catalogue. The beauty of every scene is amazing, and the simplicity of the story is its strongest point.
Of course, it wasn't well recieved by the united states because of the simple fact that it portrays the war from another angle. I've read people calling it morally repulsive, wich is complete bullshit: Jiro doesn't design planes made to kill people, he designs planes because he thinks they're beautiful.
And we see many signs within the movie that point out the awfulness of war. Miyazaki is completely against war from both the "good" and the "bad side", and if you've seen his movies, you know that: he doesn't side with anyone, he simply tells a story of good people who have the bad luck to be stuck in war, and these people aren't bad for being on the opposite side of war, they're simply people, because in war, there's no bad people, just people who follow orders from individuals with too much power.
Calling this movie morally repulsive would be like calling a documentary about the "Manhattan project" disgusting propaganda about brutal homicide, or also calling The Grave of the Fireflies morally repulsive, just because these kids happened to be japanese and deserved to suffer for their leaders.
He is zero fighter designer
ОтветитьThe trailers enough to leave you in tears. The films enough to leave you sobbing.
ОтветитьThis was a interesting film. Very artistic.
ОтветитьNew miyazaki film announced! Because even retirement can't stop him teaching us new ways to look at the world around us, and all the faces of love.
ОтветитьAbsolutely adore this film
ОтветитьCapron invented the first jet engine only to be pillaged by Allies NATO.
