I Tried Monat Products For a Year (honest review + my experience)

Whatever made your hair look like it looks now, keep using it. Your hair is blindingly shiny and super healthy! Bleached hair is so so so damaging but your hair looks great!

ok can I say that when I was her age, my hair was waist length and perfect..... now, however I have been through a lot of hair loss from thyroid challenges and I am in my 60's with long hair. I tried Olaplex and it looks good.... for a day. So I am now trying Monet. I will post so anyone in my age group can get a review. Thanks for the video!

I have fine hair but healthy. I am open to trying the product but worried about initial hair loss. Any suggestions?

There will never be a product that everyone in the world will love. Even Olaplex, which is one of the top hair brands, have bad reviews! Everyone’s hair is different and will react differently. Now I will say, I think the actual products they have are great. But the marketing is terrible! That’s why it gets so much backlash. The “bosses” “market partners” are terribly annoying and pushy. It’s the same when your in the mall and you see those booths selling straighteners. The straighteners are actually amazing but the salespeople are annoying and people tend to run away. I don’t sell monat and don’t plan on it, but I love their renew and studio one line. Especially the hair masque that comes in a tub has transformed my hair!

I’ve been using Monat for 6 months and I lose a lot of hair but I have always lost a lot of hair over the years and uses many products to stop it. I have found my scalp health has improved since using Monat and that my hair is softer and the curls are returning. I attribute my hair loss to going through a stressful time as I’m going through some major stuff.

It seems too complicated for me. Ill just stick with Aveda

just started monat ! so far i have only good things out of both hair care and skin care im using monat renew shampoo for thick and dry hair and monat black 2-n-1 and so far so good just scared about hair loss but i think it’s just the dead hair from previous damage

I didn’t like monat at first because it wouldn’t lather how I like but I was warned about this before buying so I knew what I was getting myself into, my hair looked healthier after a month. I have a lot of baby hairs now 😇

You should never have any extreme case when using a shampoo and conditioner. Monat is such a bad company with bad products. Go to a hair salon and get recommendations on what products work best for your hair

I have noticed quite a bit of hair loss since using Monat but you said it went away for you? I'm in college so I'm trying to decide if these very high prices are worth it for me, you know?

Thanks Karina! I wash once a week as well and always throw a ball of hair away, but that happened way before I started Monat. This was super helpful though for someone a couple months in!

I suggest talk about fortified shampoo for fast hair growth.

My hair has actually gotten softer and I’ve been using all the products together , split end mender , 2in1 black monat shampoo and I still lose hair yes but my hair looks so healthy and feels great along with a hair masque to keep my hair soft too. Just have to use the right products that work for you or it will react depending what hair type or how sensitive your scalp could be

Also just to expand on a few things if people are curious: losing a little more hair than normal when you switch shampoos is typically because:
1)Its a detox period where your hair follicles are cleaned out bc most normal, cheap shampoos clog them with silicones and other toxic products. When you change your routine to non-toxic, clean products, all of that buildup that has been clogging your scalp pores and follicles gets cleaned out so the hair that has been held in for months and not naturally shedding is going to come out.
2)Your hair and scalp have to readjust to the new products based on pH, ingredients, and just how healthy or unhealthy the scalp and hair already are.
Also, if you combine any clean, non-toxic products with toxic ones in your routine, it really hinders the progress you are making. Dying and treating your hair with chemicals and toxins is one of those things going to affect how well certain products work for you.
Another thing is, most shampoos that lather really well do that bc they are packed with alcohols, sulfates, and sugars. The problem is, those things tend to dry out the hair and cause premature aging, unnatural hair loss, dry scalp, dandruff and other problems.
So you kind of have to do a cost benefit analysis on what you want most for your hair.

I’m someone who never loses much hair in the shower. When I used these products I lost so much hair it was terrifying. I stopped using these and my hair still grows long and strong without any loss

Love the honesty! It’s just like every product not everything will work for you and your hair/skin does take time for you to notice the difference, even with Cantu some people love it and some don’t even with tresemme, me personally I love the skin products I be too lazy to do my hair so I just get it done lol

My experience with this shampoo is something that I could not recommend to people. I lost a lot of hair that I can not recover from it . It's not for everyone

I m not experiencing hair loss with Monat . Actually the opposite ,I used to lose a lot more hair before . It’s a good line of products my hair doesn’t seem as frizzy as it used to be ,it’s not greasy or particularly dry ,I don’t see why people make all these claims .

I’ve been using monat for more than 6 months religiously, using all the products exactly as described! It was great and kept my hair under control (I have a lot of thick wavy hair and it gets frizzy) I began in august 2020. This January (2021) I began to notice I was dropping a lot of hair everywhere in full strands , I thought it was normal, by the middle of the month I was shedding sooo much hair I could’ve made a whole wig with all the hair I was loosing. I have about almost half of the amount of hair I used to have! I used nothing else on my hair and I am healthy! I believe these products are responsible! I have photos of all the hair I have lost and continue to abnormally loose...... it’s scary! BEWARE

You're mom is right, more hair falls out if you only wash once a week. It sounds like your hair got better bc you didn't color or bleach for 8 months, not the products...but it can be hard to tell your rep that you don't want it anymore

When you switched to the Renew line, did you have to repurchase? Are you able to return products that don’t work for you? I have watched a lot of reviews and news report about Monat having to issue refunds. But I still worry that I won’t be able to at least exchange.
