Manikarnika Ghat is one of the most significant and ancient ghats along the river Ganga in Banaras. It is believed that those who are cremated here attain moksha (liberation from the cycle of rebirth).

According to Hindu mythology, Goddess Parvati dropped her earring (Manikarnika) at this site while Lord Shiva was performing his cosmic dance. Hence, the ghat was named Manikarnika.

Our team also met Doms, who traditionally manages the cremation processes at the ghat. They are responsible for maintaining the eternal flame and overseeing the rites.

There are various question that arises when one thinks about death, is it the end or a new beginning. This episode explores the question of death in a poetic way, while sitting at the Manikarnika Ghat and watching the bodies burn.
