this was touted as hyper-realistic at the time, and landing without crashing was near impossible. I am still traumatized and instinctively doubt the realism of modern flight sims whenever I manage to put down a jet intact and not in a fireball :D
ОтветитьI had it on my XT pc .. the color scheme was light purple, blue, white, black. So am not used to see the game in it’s true colours. Very hard though and always crashing after couple of minutes
ОтветитьThis has one of the coolest looking title screens ever.
ОтветитьThe Tandy version so outclasses the CGA version that I played so much many years ago. I feel deprived now of the experience.
ОтветитьThe first simulator game I have ever played. This game is the reason I fell in love to flight simulator.
ОтветитьLove this 😃
ОтветитьAfter I saw an excellent story driven review of this game in -87 Mikrobitti-magazine, I just couldn’t sleep well until I got this game many months later.
After that, I couldn’t sleep well because of the excessive playing all day, all nite.
..which got even worse after Falocn 3 came out.
..and the expansions for Falcon 3.
..and don’t get me started after what happeded when Falcon 4 got released..
That’s a decade of sleep deprevation.
And 4 pc upgrades worth 40000 buckerinos.
DCS has come a long way...
ОтветитьThis cannot be true.
I remember this game as a on pair with movie Top Gun.
Almost movie like experience....
Or should i take off my nostalgia googles?
The Tandy version looks immensely better than the ugly 4-colour CGA version. I have a full boxed copy of the Mac version, as well as a bunch of other Falcon games. This is one of my favourite franchises.
Ответитьthanks for uploading this - i am playing this game still but just have the standard ibm version, i have been looking around for the Tandy version but have never found a copy of it anywhere - did you get a physical copy of the tandy version? or is there a site i could visit?
ОтветитьHad no idea the Tandy version also supported the sound chip. Excellent attention to detail!
ОтветитьI had this for Atari ST. Still have the code wheel, threw out the rest of the stuff years ago. I guess my line of thinking was that the copy protection wheel would be the most difficult item to replace, so I should save it...
Ответить...34 years....
ОтветитьYea why not
