wow x infinity. Thank you so much Nacho! Sensational work and commitment from you. Appreciate your notes too. Nico's voice is so clear and beautiful and goes so perfectly with the footage. Great song too and the 'b' side - The Last Mile' is equally wonderful. Bless you Nacho. I was lucky enough to be invited to Nico's dressing room in Ronnie Scotts back in '84. Before the show, I had given a bouncer one red rose for Nico rather than a bouquet. As I was getting my coat, he said that Nico wanted to thank me for the rose. We chatted for about 20 mins. She was amazing. Thanks again Nacho ... you have done something very special! :o)
ОтветитьNico ist magisch...
ОтветитьOutstanding ❤
ОтветитьWhen The Velvet Underground and Nico album came out I was working for an underground newspaper in LA, The Open City. I wrote my one and only record review for the paper about the album. I thought then it would be remembered a one of the best Rock and Roll Albums ever and I think the same today.
ОтветитьThank you sooo much!
ОтветитьVery well done Nacho! Many thanks!
ОтветитьCe qu'elle était belle.
ОтветитьLovely 🎶🎵
ОтветитьThis is Lightfoot being a heel as only he could be because he was adored as a singer. Now, when a woman sings the song it is just not the same. Nico may have had the same outlook but in the day, only a man passing as a rogue could get away with it.
ОтветитьLike Chet Baker she looked absolutely stunning before heroin took over.
ОтветитьExcellent job of syncing the images to the audio, especially under the circumstances in the description. Did McCartney ever get in touch?
ОтветитьShe’s a 10 and then some
ОтветитьGreat work, thank you very much!
ОтветитьMarianne Faithful should have recorded this !
Dusty ?
Stunningly beautiful!
ОтветитьMesmerising. The song and the footage. Thanks for posting this.
ОтветитьLovely song sounds a bit like Judith duram of the seekers.!
ОтветитьThat stare down at the end was bone chilling in the best way.
ОтветитьStunning work! Looks like it could have been shot yesterday. At first I thought it was! And I appreciate the heroic effort with the syncing, that and the editing are masterfully and stylishly done, great job. And gosh, how beautiful was she.
ОтветитьBelle époque 🎉que j’ai connu que tout passe vite….
ОтветитьI always loved Nico. Thanks for posting this. She looks and sounds amazing here. It's a shame she was probably too much of a baritone and too unconventional for most American music studios.
Ответитьmmmm..?? This looks too good and too 'in sync' for 1965. ...just saying
Ответитьwhere didya find this ? did you get the original 16mm ?...its great by the way....as usual...the song has a stonesy feel to it i never noticed before..i didnt know gordon lightfoot wrote it always thought it was brian jones
Ответить❤❤❤
ОтветитьWOW! Made my day - thank you! Wish there was something this clear on some early Velvets performances that you could work your magic on...10/10!
ОтветитьThe myth that Nico couldn’t sing . . .
ОтветитьThis is magnificent, beautiful! Thank you very much for your outstanding work on this clip. I have the single and knew the other video, but this footage is splendid, astonishing! ❤❤❤
ОтветитьIt figures. Both Nico and Peter, Paul, & Mary knew where the good stuff was coming from in '65. GBY, Gordon Lightfoot and all you touched.
ОтветитьHer playful stare down the camera at the beginning and the chilling one at the end, and everything in between is a masterpiece of sound and vision.
ОтветитьAbsolutely glorious and beautifully edited. Thank you. Recorded in the year I was born, eighteen years before I met and became kind of friends with Nico, as much as it is possible to become friends with someone almost essentially unknowable. I still miss her terribly and she remains my favourite icon, my spirit animal, my goddess.
ОтветитьNico will live forever.
ОтветитьJimmy Page on guitar .
ОтветитьLove ❤️
ОтветитьI’ll sort them out offline. I payed for all Cale and Nico. Nico is my idol. My ideal woman, my ideal singer. I wish she were still here, alive.
ОтветитьWho remastered this?!😮😮
Ответить🩷
ОтветитьWonderful - she was beautiful, and she was alone.
ОтветитьMasterpiece
Ответитьincredible....fantastic.....had never even heard this song; till I got the best of CD several years ago.........long time fan; got to see her perform live twice in NYC ❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьNico dated Brian Jones, and she and Anita Pallenberg had similar Bridget Bardot pop personality good looks, which were effective in this video recording of her cover of the Gordon Lightfoot original. But her later years in the Velvet Underground would show that Nico had a lot more going on intellectually (side note: Jimmy Page was the acoustic guitar session player.)
ОтветитьAMAZING
ОтветитьGreat work, dude!! Thank you so much!!
Ответить❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьNico 1987 club 22 always in our memory ❤
ОтветитьLovely edit! Though I wonder if you have or could upload a...grainier (or higher fidelity) version of this.
ОтветитьI love nico's music anyway 😊 This edit ist a real master piece ❤
ОтветитьAmazing footage
ОтветитьI’ve always admired Nico. In 1982, I met Ondine, one of Warhol’s actors who appeared with Nico in the film, “Chelsea Girls”. I remember his eyes lit up, when I asked him about her.
ОтветитьI'm so glad the people who filmed stuff like this in the 60's has the insight to do it . Maybe it was about money or a beautiful woman. I'm so glad we have the film around to watch in 2025
ОтветитьThis is feminism as it should be ❤
