I need an explanation on the 2- -3. It's not enough for me to know that the minus becomes a plus and the negative becomes a positive. I need the why explanation if anyone can link the video or explain.

i "learned" this in my pre algebra class, i am now in geometry 2-3 years later reviewing how to do this bec sal teaches this better then my pre algebra teacher ever did and i was always too ashamed to ask all my other math teachers how to do this oh goodness

Tip: If you are adding and the sings are the different you can add them together to get your answer and then see which number has the greatest integer
