Wish all seasons could have been as good as this one. This one was the best imo, although I loved all of the first 4 seasons

"Official Trailer," what bunk! This reeks of a fan-made trailer and why oh why did you put in that stupid made-up detail about the Pope's Box. Not only was it a narrative cul-de-sac in the show, its inclusion here totally drives the pacing that was being set up in this trailer to a halt.

Murder house is better after you watch it for sure. It took most of the season to convince me it was actually doing anything of note. I found myself wondering why the show didn’t play by the narrative conventions of storytelling, narrative or even horror but then I realised that its breadboard of ideas and clichés was the point. It’s about a marriage but it also plays with the idea of marriage that pop culture feeds us through horror and puts a unique Ryan Murphy lens on it. The plot probably makes the most sense out of all the seasons - a dark history, and then the house starts tearing their marriage and their teenage daughter apart at the seams - and it is also probably the least messy season. It lacks some of the grand and extravagantly theatrical quality that drives most of the later seasons and there are whole episodes that make up to nothing more than “wouldn’t it be fun if we riffed on this horror trope?” but the acting is good, particularly from Jessica Lange, and the sheer daring of (SPOILER ALERT) killing off everybody in the show’s cast speaks to how the show immediately set about rewriting the rules of television.
