It's a good thing the 2 actors were so professional to put up with all that. Indeed, when you have a hyper-anxious partner with a failing memory, at some point there's no more charm, no more Marilyn, but just a boring chick to deal with.

I read somewhere that ARTHUR MILLER stated that I'M THRU WITH LOVE was his favorite song. In his early years he worked at a radio station. I guess he must have suggested that song for Marilyn to sing in SOME LIKE IT HOT. Credit where credit is due.

This documentary doesn't mention it, but its not in the movie anyway. I think I read it in a Billy Wilder biography years ago; when Jack and Joe E. Brown are dancing, off-camera George Raft was teaching them to dance better.

I loved seeing this movie back in the day. Jack Lemmon was the best! We would laugh and laugh mostly at Jack Lemon. In my opinion, he had a better feel for comedy than Tony Curtis.

Remaking great movies is lazy. Remaking a European film , from french or german changes it completely. The french " Cage aux Folles " is older and better than the Nathan Lane version , but Americans wont watch movies w subtitles.

This documentary misses out on some key points. Adding to the drama between her and Tony Curtis, they were actually having an affair, making it possible that he was the one who got her pregnant.

And for those saying a remake isn't necessary, even though the film isn't a direct adaptation, it's interesting to note that "White Chicks" is heavily inspired by it.

It's unfortunate that Tony Curtis became so snide and cynical and such an unsmiling arrogant jerk as an older man. He lost all his charm. Not to mention his looks.

This version of Some Like it Hot is probably one of the best films. However, this is due not to the script but to the amazing performances by this set of actors. Change just one of them and it would have been a very different film. Had any of the actors been unavailable then it is much less likely to have been the classic it has become. This is why it should never be re-done. Actually, I cannot think of anyone who could replace the main characters. The finished product might be funny to someone who had not seen the original, but otherwise, a travesty.

Without Marilyn the story wouldn't have been funny. Tony Curtis made his famous quote,'Kissing her was like vkissing Hitler",while watching stills of the day. At first he owned up to it and then changed his story several times. Marilyn was with child while filming this comedy classic. Jack Lemmon is woinderful as always. Marilyn would later miscarry again after Billy Wilder kept shooting her run down the pathway. Poor Marilyn lost another child while filming this classic and was ill a lot of the time of the filming. Unfortunatly Marilyn would never be able to cxarry a child to full term because of ectopic pregnancies. The stories that she had abortions is pure myth. Some consider this movie to be the funniest classic movie of all time. I certainly agree!

People stay themselves. Tony Curtis, still rather disgusting. Jack Lemmon, still a gentleman who tells stories not to puff himself, but to praise others. Billy Wilder, still sounding totally Austrian.

Like most Hollywood actresses, she had several abortions. If the actress was a money making machine then the studio heads would put it in their contracts no pregnancy’s & sometimes no marriages!

No they should NEVER even think about a remake. There are NO stars like these anymore. Incomparable acting and comic timing. Why not show Classical films like these in big cinemas. So the kids of today can see how it works and should be done. NO special effects needed. Pure genius , acting and writing and comic timing. It would be ruinous to try and remake it, just like the classisms Rebecca was a flop. Just show the originals. There was and is a reason why people love them.

Marilyn should have passed on the movie to have her baby. She was frail, probley didn't take good enough care of herself. Sophia Loren stayed in bed most of the time when she got pregnent. She had suffered prior 2 miscarriages. They could have used Janye Mansfield for the part. I bet it really weighed heavy on Marilyn after she made the movie. Joe DiMaggio was right when he said, "They finally killed her" after he heard of her death.

I love this movie. But as any movie with MM in it, it does't really start, till she appears. And what an appearance! The gangster story in the beginning is much too long, and not funny. The giys are hilarious, but MM as always steals the show. The greatest moviestar and actor ever. It's awful to hear how everybody was annoyed she had to do scenes more than 50 times and couldn't remember even simple lines. Filming should have been cancelled and she should have have medical attention. They exploited her talent and showed no empathy. And yet, the result is fabulous! You can't tell she has any problems, every scene is perfect. Love you Marilyn❤❤❤ One last thing: It's a crime to film MM i black and white, that was a mistake.
