ОтветитьPart of the soundtrack of my childhood. I was the middle of 7 kids with the best big sister and two big brothers a kid could ask for. Theresa taught me how to dance and to respect women. The rough-and-tumble boys tricked their timid and gullible little brother into peeing on an electric fence and poking beehives with a stick. They farted on me a lot, used me for a mini-bike ramp and the less said about "Corn Dog Time", the better. But they adored me, protected me, taught me about life, encouraged me and taught me to stand up for myself. There were lots of noogies, red bellies and wedgies interspersed with hugs and words of comfort... all set to the soundtrack of 1970s suburban teenagers.
So a shout-out to Mom and Dad's "Little Knuckleheads", Theresa, Tim and Eric.. who over the past half-century went from being just my awesome older siblings to being my best friends. Thanks for always being there for me. Much love from your little "Squeet" ...
Excellent album original members gregg rolie and Steve Perry

ОтветитьLate 70s/early 80s, headphones, 8 track. Sitting there for hours, full volume. The best. :) My sister worked for Bill Graham at that time so I thankfully got to see them at Day on the Green and 3 other times. <3

ОтветитьBest pure rock sound. When Perry kicks it in, it brings chills down my spine.
ОтветитьGreg Rollie invented the Journey sound and Steve Perry ran with it
ОтветитьAgreed so good together: Rolie and Perry
ОтветитьI was 17 then, and am still in awe of this beautiful collaboration of real talent...wow, the goosebumps ❤
ОтветитьWhen Journey was still good, before that tool Jon Cain joined.
ОтветитьSong rocks👍
ОтветитьThe first time I ever brought a record home, in 7th grade, to play on the archaic "suitcase" phonograph my stepmom gave me, it was this. I literally only had 2 other LPs to play and no money, no allowance, but I found a small selection of rock titles to borrow from the school library. Music has always been my great love and passion.
When this song came on, with Feeling That Way as a sort of fabulous intro, but longer and more elaborate...that was truly a transformational moment of my life. In fact , I went on to become a semi-pro rock metal guitarist and amateur recording engineer because of music like this and because of the Grand Master Edward Van Halen.
From the first note, that awesome vocal harmony, the super phat drum fill, then Neil Schon's always superlative and melodic guitar riffs, my jaw dropped. I couldn't stop listening to it over and over, totally mesmerized.
MIND BLOWING!
I have been very sick for over 33 years and lost everything I owned and everything worthwhile in life, including my daughter, her mom, my home, and recently became completely estranged to my whole family of origin. I ended up on the streets, a 100% hopeless hardcore narcotics addict and at the unimaginable bottom I was diagnosed with a serious mental illness that has no cure. The odds of me ever escaping that living hell on Earth were the remote (there were even more factors involved...)
That was almost 32 years ago but against all odds, a small miracle occurred and I made it out alive.
But let me tell ya, life is still a huge struggle for me from day to day. However, no matter how many problems or how bad things get, I always have a small handful of songs that are pure magic to me still, even after 4+ decades, that do something to me inside that is indescribably wonderful and bring me up out of that doom and gloom.
ISNT MUSIC FANTASTIC!
What can you say@!! 70's ,80's 🎉🎉🎉BOOM
ОтветитьRock Anthem!
ОтветитьOne of my first assignments as a young still photographer involved this song! I went to a Construction site of a new Hospital in 1988 This song was blaring as steel workers all with cigarettes dangling out of their mouths landed steel 4 floors up. The Crane operator had a funny smell coming out of the cab and the foreman had clearly had liquid lunch, just told me not to get killed. Good Times!
ОтветитьI'm 62 been listening to this for a long time still kicks a** in 2024
ОтветитьThis was when they were at their Fing Best! Our band covered this and I sang Greg's part. No where close but nan the crowd and girls loved it..After Greg left, I left. He completed Steve's vocals..sigh
ОтветитьThe last of the "good" Journey, went kinda bubble gum after this
ОтветитьIf you didn’t come here from Feeling That Way, go back and do it properly.
