I think here they wilk have a 5 and 7 seat option like the current version. Mine is the 5 seater. Unless you carry a lot of people, which we dont, mostly just my wife and I there is little point in a 7 seater as you loose so much boot space unless you fold the back seats down, which the defeats having 7 seats. If it only comes with 7 seat option I would probably be less interested in it or just keep the back seats permanently folded down.

Love the styling, wish the 300 series looked that good.

Land Cruiser had round headlamps decades ago so wouldn’t say they copied Land Rover. Think FJ etc…

Australia not a market important enough to get turbo petrol engines....

Toyota still haven't fixed the major flaw with this vehicle-the lack of towing ability to match the utes and now the Ford Everest. Why would I buy this? If I was happy with the 2.8ltr engine I may as well buy the old model and save a lot of money and waiting time. This is like my Grandmother with a facelift- she might look a bit better but underneath she's still old. Pathetic effort Toyota! Scared of losing Landcruiser 300 buyers??

Totally undercooked in engines.

I drove a 2021 hilux for one year and couldn’t wait to get out of it, very poor fuel economy and shocking gear auto. I brought a Dmax and couldn’t be happier 👍

The 2.8 1GD for this new generation has a newly developed turbo charger, that has a smaller internal structure, which will provide for a more responsive engine, while maintaining the same power and torque as the current generation due to improved efficiency.

Waiting time will be 2-3 years.

Please, please, please include an option for the 3.3L V6 twin turbo diesel. Yes it might cannibalise a few LandCruiser sales in Australia but Toyota can't meet demand now. I reckon customers (both sales & service) stolen from Everest and Defender would more than compensate Toyota for any revenue lost from the LandCruiser series. Do this and ensure sway bar disconnect and rear diff locks aren't restricted to luxury top end versions less suited for dust, mud and sand environments and this would be a weapon for off-road towing.

Shame there's no petrol hybrid option for Australia, i would have ordered for sure.. definitely not interested in the existing 2.8 old tech diesel.. hopefully they see sense and give us the option.

As of now, the 2023 model prado has a 4.0 L V6 engine available in Dubai...expecting the same for the 2024 one

No v6 is a mistake unfortunately, a lot of car for the wheezy 2.8

On my fourth Prado, and this one looks like it will be my fifth! As always, Toyota are sliding rather than jumping, so we are seeing the current 2.8l 4 cylinder carry over and mild hybrid. Actually, with large fuel price increases on the cards in the 2-3 year window I understand where this comes from.

Power output still less. 170KW minimum should be the game changer for retro design but same 150KW.

Disappointing motor choice. Unless something changes to the Oz version motor and as a long time Toyota owner/driver, my next purchase will have to go to Ford.... regrettably.

Having only one engine option in Aust means more repairable in remote areas. Why? More likely that parts will be nearby, and more locals will have some familiarity with the 4 cylinder diesel.

Hey Paul don’t like how there is no bonnet gase struts to hold the aluminium bonnet up, they’ve reverted back to the good old steel rod to hold that aluminium bonnet. Perhaps this only affects the US models? Yeah nah bit of a head scratcher?

As I reach the halfway point waiting for my Everest (Wildtrak), I have been concerned that I'd regret not waiting for a Prado. Very happy with my decision, but mainly because Everest is needed for towing a caravan. Looks the goods this Prado, but I suspect their primary market will be current Land Rover drivers (soccer mums) and not current Prado/MUX/Everest caravan towers.
