The Importance of Cloud and Tifa's Relationship

My first FF games were IX and VIII, so when I first saw some visuals from VII, I automatically thought that Tifa's the love interest because her hair looks kinda similar to Rinoa's and Garnet's. It was that simple for me lmao

Love this video, love your cosplays. I feel like I CAN understand why people ship Clerith but I'm sorry, while they're sweet and yes Cloud does love Aerith, it's not in the same way he loves Tifa and no one can tell me different. The scenes in Gongaga solidified all of it for me. I've shipped them since I first saw Advent Children (which my introduction to FFVII 10+ years ago) but these games have really upped the ante on them. She has really helped bring him back from the brink every time. Even though it's an optional date, the fact that in my game they kissed, I screamed like the little girl I am lol. I can't wait to see what they do with them in the third game. Also, Cody Christian and Britt Baron have done phenomenally and I just... cries I can't wait for the third game.

To me Tifa was always an older sister he looked up to and wanted the respect of. I don’t buy romantic feelings being there tifa didn’t even notice him really until jenova cells got involved.

Tifa isn’t clouds light either, aeris is, she’s likely the reason he makes it to mideel in the original, and who guides him to sephiroth and then to safely clearing him of the taint. And it was Aeris who was “searching for cloud” Tifa was too busy hiding it…probably in part to how poorly she had treated him til now. She wanted the denial as much as jenova. That’s not a light.

Dude, Cloti is great if you like things basic. It's a literal girl next door romance. If you are playing the Cloti version of the OG (there is no canon) it's a case of, 'Cloud regains his memories, gets the girl.' It's not exactly innovative, but I get why people might like that.

Repeat after me 'There is no Canon.' It's Japanese interpretive storytelling. It's player choice. Always has been.

I find it funny that whether we pick Tifa or Aerith gives such an insight into us as people. Want a girl who will stand by you, fairly passively and support you no matter what you do - it's Tifa. Want someone who will inspire you to greater things and isn't afraid to call you out - it's Aerith. I don't even consider the horny boys who haven't seen a real pair of boobs before.

Good job editing the video and nice cosplays but I'm sorry to say that you are wrong about many things and in Final Fantasy VII there’s a love triangle between Cloud, Aerith and Tifa and in this video you mention Tifa all the time and the others once and you don’t care him relationship with the others and especially with Aerith who is his other love interest😂

I'm sorry, this video overinflates Tifa's importance in the story. She's important but not as important as Cloud, Aerith and Sephiroth. You also glaze Tifa up and down like no one's business. Fun fact, she was added last second in OG and the devs bluntly say this is so the player still has a female presence after Aerith's death. The story was mostly done when this happened. It was not built around these two. You cut out all of the flaws in Cloud and Tifa's relationship, the lying, testing, gaslighting, accusations and fighting where their relationships take two steps forward and three steps back. Their relationship is very flawed and you also give credit to ONLY Tifa when other characters have done the same thing for Cloud. Ignoring all the times the other members of the team have lifted them both up and even Aerith being a solid rock that has snapped Cloud out of his hallucinations and has comforted him.

This is a very disingenuous video with a lot of false comments. I'm sorry. You can love Tifa and Cloti all you want. But you blatantly did not touch upon their flaws and overinflated Tifa's importance. The devs have been bluntly clear that Cloud, Aerith and Sephiroth are the core of the series. Full stop. They said they gave Tifa more screentime than OG because she's popular in the West. You straight up treat FF7 like it's Cloud and Tifa's romance story and nothing but that while everyone and everything else is the extras in their show.
And no, not sorry to say, Cloti is NOT canon. As of OG and as of the present day. No. Ship. Is. Canon. The devs even said this themselves. Please take off the Tifa goggles. They are so tightly wrapped around your head it's blocking blood flow to your brain and preventing you from seeing this masterpiece for what it is.

There's nothing wrong with loving Tifa and shipping Cloud with her but God pleeeease can people stop acting like Tifa is even partially on the same level as Cloud Aerith and Sephiroth in this game. This is a completely biased video only cheery picking scenes to point to a very specific narrative that would be inaccurate if the game in its entirety with all party interactions were taken into consideration. Tifa is important but she is not a top tier main character. Please try to stop making her one.

Wow I'm surprised I haven't seen this vid till now. This was a really wonderful analysis on their relationship and the importance of Tifa. Honestly, from what I heard from OG players, I wasn't expecting so much Tifa focus or Cloti content in Rebirth but we were fed so well.

That channel is so damn annoying. The comments yap about Tifa and Cloud wayyyyyy too much. And then to minimize the support to only liking her because of how she looks. 🙄🙄 CLEARLY they aren’t true fans of the series and to try to minimize their interactions at each turn says a lot and enough.

I legitimately watch this video once a week - your passion for FF7, your eloquence when speaking, and your cosplays take it to the next level. Your vocabulary? Outstanding, I learned like 5 new words from watching this (gonna try to use Verisimilitude in every day conversation)
