kind of lame how these levels are typical lava, ice, forest, beach, ect and the reuse that grid background so much. needs more of that unique kirby aesthetic

admittedly my first ever switch game since i got it and the console around two or so days ago, and dammit was it a wild ride to relive the small moments when i played on any game console, really

recommend Kirby's epic yarn. a really interesting take on the classic Kirby formula.

While the criticism of Kirby games forcing you to change copy abilities is valid, I’d recommend you try and complete stages without doing the copy ability that the stage sometimes pushes you to change to. You’ll see that the stages actually offer a unique perspective when you attempt to complete it with a different copy ability. While Kirby games do require you to change copy abilities sometimes for collectables, most of the time, the game wants you to experience different abilities and see how they interact with different stages.

Arlo you need to play kirby planet robobot you will enjoy it.

Now I want Epic Yarn. Found memories of playing that in middle school.

I just wish they’d make another magic mirror type game where you’re more or less navigating through one massive maze opening doors in the over world as you find them. These newer Kirby’s are braindead slogs by comparison

I really liked that you brought the expert in (nephew). I sometimes forget how cool it is to just really love a game as a kid. Finally figuring something out or just getting through a tough level is wonderful. Thanks you two!

This game was a slight letdown after playing Forgotten Land but it’s still a decent game

Couple small things. There were minigames and challenge modes in the original, they just added new ones. Also, there are some secret bosses found in Extra Mode as well as the Extra Mode Boss Rush

If Arlo likes focused moveset and is a bit annoyed by Kirby's float, think Epic Yarn would be a very good choice to try next. Shame the remake was on 3Ds and not on switch.

I can accept the puns at the start not being a thing, as your content changes overtime with how you want to make it. But please keep the WOOSH! It’s the part of the transition to the full review of all time.

Side note, I got this game because I had some money from my recent birthday and wanted to take advantage of the Switch Voucher system, with one of the vouchers going to Mario Wonder. And I tried the demo for a few games, and this was the one I felt like I wanted the most. I played the original, and the game still holds up as a nice, fun, cozy Kirby time. It definitely shines above Star Allies, and I really enjoyed that game.

Here’s hoping they remake the Kirby game Arlo needs to play of the old good ones to play the best old good one- Planet Robobot. The power trip “gimmick” of that game feels immensely more satisfying and well integrated into the gameplay.

Honestly, i played this game and it was wayy too easy coop.. was very boring to me

Just a little note, the game doesn't force you to switch abilities constantly, some are required for puzzles and 100% the campaign, but if you like an ability, you can stick with for as long as you can. Also the movesets really aren't that hard to learn, there all basically B in different directions.

I want a remaster of Planet Robobot. Mecha Kirbo ftw

Not to be nit picky but did we play the same forgotten land? Lol maybe not a full hard mode but it did have a setting for Kirby’s health + the post game was largely remixed more difficult levels and much tougher bosses
