ОтветитьReally amazing advice and I am now beginning my 3rd round of b school - always get something new from it as I grow. But I always struggle with point number 1. Ive been told that at lots of networking events etc and it seems good advice. But When I see the calculations for a high cost product versus a low cost product ~ I just see that I am helping 200 people versus 1000. And those 200 will be the high income earners versus lower income. And that just doesn’t sit right. I really want to make my product accessible and affordable. Is there no model that supports success if I want to sell my product to more people versus less and to make it available to lower and mid income. I am in wellbeing - and I feel very strongly that over the 30 years since I began in this Industry, wellbeing has become a luxury premium product that only the 1% can afford.

ОтветитьGreat episode Marie! I suffered a massive burnout after drilling down on my product & a marketing strategy that didn't result in a single sale. Talk about defeat, I was drained dry. All the while, even though my email & IG marketing didn't render a sale I KNEW my product was life changing. I lost faith in the audience but never my work. In "everything is figureoutable", I accepted early on that the "how" needs freedom to morph & deliver in any way it's meant to. I knew this, yet my brain & spirit felt "I've done everything i could! And i did it right!" I started to believe "maybe I'm not meant to sell this because i can't handle it like all those successful teachers I'd learned from". But after that burnout, I'm re-entering a chance to go at it again TRULY. It's like you said, if i get hit by a bus tomorrow i want this product out there accessible to those who it's meant for. I'm currently focusing on what method is best for selling my digital & hard copy 12 module workbook. Thank you for the constant encouragement & support!

I'm a book coach, and during my first year in business I took B-School, and I realized I needed to put my time and energy behind my coaching packages before I sold my book so I could leave my job and go full-time with my biz and writing. That year I sold MORE coaching packages (over a thousand dollars) than I sold books ($3). I'm not talking revenue, I'm talking # of items sold. My lesson was that people don't automatically buy things because they're inexpensive. My clients wanted personal attention, they wanted someone to read their work and support them all the way. Marketing doesn't get easier because something is inexpensive. It gets easier when you're meeting people's needs and deepest longings. Later when I was financially stable, I was able to put my energy behind my book sales and then they took off.
