I used to work on a boat. We have mats that aren't made of humans. That's why we don't use them.

Oil companies I suspect wont use hair to help clean up oil spillages due to the amount money that they invest in other companies to create mats, sprays and other things to reduce that amount of tax they have to pay.

I imagine they aren't using it due to production cost, relying on donations so the supply could be unreliable, the fact that you could like produce other tools etc more efficiently and in larger quantities in a smaller time frame. While it's incredible to see this work and it be natural lets not pretend it's the most efficient way to clean an oil spill in the sea.

Imagine this being normal and big companies start to kill orphans in china and NKorea to make hair to profit? Even political prisioners being HAIR Cattle to provide hair for years untill no more. That's why lady XD

the amount of plastic packaging used to ship them the small batches of hair seems un environmental. they should consider making sure a minimum amount is sent.

What about making dryer lint matts? That would also work if they used that knitting machine, wouldn’t it?? AND also a good use for the dryer lints? Also, I hope that they are recycling the hair Matts? With the oils on them? They could it them into little bricks or press them and make fire starter ms for wood stoves or campy with those. Why aren't they using it? Human hair is a resource that isn't as available as other alternatives. That said, it's cheaper to use what they're using.
