Hi Paul. Just got back from my first 3 day solo camp in the mountains. It was beyond exhausting, I could barely move at the end tbh, but I'd been watching your videos and it definitely helped me prepare for it! thanks mate
ОтветитьHi Paul, where would you recommend leaving the car while on a multi -day luke this, I've parked in Hope before, but just for the day, don't want to risk a fine or upset the locals.
ОтветитьHELLO. LIKE. LIKE. CAMPING. VIDEO.
ОтветитьReally enjoyed that. Two great guys. Well done buddy.
ОтветитьDid you see the old plane wreckages? You passed one on Mill Hill and I think you could have on Bleaklow?
ОтветитьThanks for your amazing videos. Me and my boyfriend love watching them together, you make us laugh every time.
Can't wait to get back out there!!
what a fantastic video paul. made me smile getting to the top of mam tor and seeing im not the only one who visits when its windy.
ОтветитьEnjoyed that a lot ...thanks .
ОтветитьHi Paul, another great vid 👍. What was the solar panel / recharging device you used? Thanks!
ОтветитьHow much was the proximity of thunder ⚡in that elevation with such close clouds?
ОтветитьLoved the video Paul, It's a cracking walk and your beautiful footage and great commentary really make it come alive. Keep up the good work!
ОтветитьGreat video! I'm heading to the peaks soon and you have given me some inspiration on places to visit. You have gained a new subscriber 🙂
ОтветитьJust done a 35 mile 2 night 2.5 day solo wild camp and hike in the Peak District. I'm pushing 55 years old and it's a first for me. Loved everything about it apart from the blisters. They were down to a bad footwear choice.
Thank you for sharing and the inspiration!
I'm assuming night two was somewhere near Outer Edge.
Looked a cracking outing! Good to see you and Andy together, at least one person I can understand in the video 😉😂
ОтветитьNice to see you on a more challenging walk Paul. Good luck with everything
ОтветитьOh no! Slabs.
Ответитьawesome landscape great video
ОтветитьI love that big square rock, best place for a quick rest and a brew
ОтветитьI appreciate you sharing the tough parts of your days with your audience, Paul. Every good adventure has them
ОтветитьA great trip Paul- curious on how your pack belt feels across your stomach and tips you might have for use chubby guys?
ОтветитьMarvelous country, inspiring video. Cheers.
ОтветитьWow this is breathtaking! It felt like I was there with you 👍🏻 Thank you for sharing and taking us along on your adventure! ✨
ОтветитьWhats your solar panel brand model? Csnt find it in your link
ОтветитьLove the look of this walk, I'll add it to the list! Completely with you when you spoke about feeling the pressure of keeping up. I much prefer solo hiking now and getting into my own stride, loads more enjoyable. Great video 🥾
ОтветитьLook at the sky not the floor Paul. I'm completing the West Penine way solo this week and there are plenty of sections where I wish there where slabs. It's s all perspective!!
ОтветитьReally enjoying videos of these longer trips 😃 Never knew UK was so grassy 😂
ОтветитьFantastic Paul, thank you for getting out there and putting in the effort to bring us this great video. I watched both yours and Andy’s videos and it’s great to see the different styles on the same walk.
Ответить❤️ another great video! Looking forward to next big hike.. learn so much from these
ОтветитьWell done fella : that stretch from BL H is a real killer no paths just graft 🤣 👏
Ответитьtry kinesiology tape for your knees Paul, magic stuff,,,,, thelangsettwanderer
ОтветитьMy last proper backpacking trip was in 2017, the year I turned 50. Later that year, I developed arthritis in my knees, which brought my hiking days to an end. Or did it? I've been slowly building back, and your videos have been an inspiration. Heading out this weekend, actually.
ОтветитьHi Paul glad I watched your kit video first, that's a good achievement almost 40 miles and not over the easiest terrain.
Dave B. Thailand.
I think you did well , that’s a fair stank loaded up
ОтветитьAwesome video. Really enjoyed watching it. See a couple of places I have been and it’s made me want to go back again
ОтветитьGreat video Paul, love that area, done most bits of it but would like to tie it all together. Don't complain about the slabs, the pre slab alternative was hard work up there 🤪😂 TFS David. And don't be hard on yourself! Good effort that, the highs and lows of multi day hikes 🙂
ОтветитьIt's funny, before you mentioned it I had pegged Andy down as one of those head down and march on type hikers, then 10 minutes later you asked the question and confirmed it. I have the complete opposite mentality, I go out with a loose plan and like to amble along and stop to admire the sights and sounds, and investigate the rocks, or bogs, or any other semi-interesting features. It's probably why the idea of bagging Wainwrights just doesn't appeal to me. I'm not out to reach the destination, I'm out to enjoy the walk. Each to their own though, I'd never preach one mentality was better than the other. I have found that the styles don't really mix though, with frustration appearing from both sides, and as such I'll never go out alone with someone that's there to get to the end, unless we have pre-arranged that they can arrive an hour before me, or not, and either way that's ok. Sounds like you just got a bit of a conflict of interests going on.
Good job getting out on the multi-day, I've still never done one wild camping all nights, I've always had a campsite in there, probably to ease any possible pain of the English weather 😉
Hi mate have a great video keep on producing great content like this
ОтветитьWith all those unnecessary cairns there I would say that it is messy. So much for leaving the place as you found it. You are being to hard on your self Paul. I'm 74 and still out there in the mountains of NZ climbing up to 2000 M with 20 kg. Not bragging just saying age is not a barrier, go at your own pace. I've slowed down a bit over the years, but what I have got is stamina, and I watch the young ones burn them selves out before we get to the tops. Where it would take me 8 hours to my destination, it now takes 9 hours, so what !! I still get there. There will of course be lots of 'huffing and puffing' but that is all part of the trip. I have rambled on a bit ( no pun intended). Just keep on doing it mate, go at your own pace, Cheers from NZ
ОтветитьThe tortoise and the hare comes to mind
ОтветитьThe whole point of walking together is actually walking together. Your mate wouldn’t be my choice of hiking companion tbh. Keep up the great videos Paul 👌🏽👌🏽
ОтветитьGreat achievement, that. You did great. I enjoyed the chat you had with Andy too. Love this one Paul. ATB
Ответитьdoes anyone know what the patches are on the moors are from, look manmade
ОтветитьNo two humans are the same. Even at my most fit, I had trouble with inclines. (Having come from flat land, maybe not surprising) I could run, bike, cross-train-but put me on a steel hill and it was huffing and puffing all the way. The older I get the more I realize that it’s the journey-not the pace. It’s not a race. There will always be someone faster, fitter, better-SO WHAT! You did it! And I am super impressed and proud of you.
ОтветитьFair play mate
ОтветитьGreat Job Paul! Super video. Deffo one I’d love to get done.
ОтветитьI’m doing a multi day hike in the Lake District soon. Honestly I don’t want to hike 15-20 miles a day. I’ll be happy to do 10-12 and spend more time having lunch, looking at views and the end of day camp. It’s meant to be fun not a chore!!!!
ОтветитьPaul you did well to keep up with Andy, great effort. Thanks for showing us the terrain with its varied technical difficulties.
Ответитьhello paul you’ve sent me a message telling me ive won a prize but i can’t seem to be able to reply via the link you sent me. john
