Wow! Agree with every word these men said, I thought I was the only one who believed drs is way too powerful now and just ruins races, honestly I think people like EJ and DC would do a much better job than these guys from the FIA who make up rules

If F1 wants to be seen as being GREEN, then bring back the V10 engine, and fuel it wth hydrogen. Zero emissions and the safe technology is in place. Let the worlds best open wheel auto engineers get on with what they do with huge budgets within teams.
Oh yes and DRS is a farce.

EJ, you are a legend, love how you dont care to say things the way they are. I wouldnt change a single thing of what you said.
So cool EJ can expose the same a lot of F1 fans feel, and think is wrong and should change in F1. Ive been watching F1 since i have memory, but ive seen too many intrinsic attributes of F1, what makes it F1 taking out and thrown in the bin with a justification of "F1 is about changing", "F1 need to evolve"... and its just turning into something i dont really know what it is, but F1... hardly. F1 is degrading and if it wants to survive not turning into an absolute grotesque show, it needs to find its roots back and understand the things that should not change NEVER EVER.

About the DRS thing:

I'm afraid that if they take it out we won't see any overtakes anymore (except from Max in the rain), I do remember that dreadful period of F1 (end of '90s - early 2000s, iirc) when there was absolutely no overtaking on track (except in turn one, lap one. And that was it, the rest was pit-stop strategy), I definitely don't want to see that horrendous thing ever again as long as I live.

I remember when I went to my first GP as a kid in Adelaide in 85, the speed and sound of the cars were incredible. Ever since the FIA became so environmentally conscious they ruined the sport.

In my opinion F1 died after Senna, the amount of changes that came in made F1 boring, now while i get it that some changes needed to be made in the name of safety it's got to the point now it's been ruined the drivers don't drive them anymore it's just point and go. WHY!! do they need all these add-ons KERs DRS Traction control etc etc. I would like to see them spend a full season in 1980's F1 cars. Todays F1 drivers are nothing more than overpaid babies that spit their dummies out at the slightest thing, it wasn't uncommon back in the day for the cars to finish the race with black donuts on the sidepods and nothing was said.

F1 is in its death throes finally to reach its demise in 2026.

I really enjoyed this, more of this please! I'd trust AI before I'd trust lawyers or judges. LOL Anything is better than what we have now. Maybe drivers, but get rid of B teams, and fill up the grid with 15 teams. Five of them being rookies. How about a spec sprint race in V8, Fe (rubbing is racing,) or F3 cars?

Let's face facts, my large daily wagon built 15 years ago (that I still drive everyday) is not much heavier than an F1 car full of fuel and driver.
Take this battery and hybrid system out, save 500kg. Better racing and better sound.
Save that virtual signalling bullshit to the filthiest countries that shit in the rivers that they still drink and bathe in.

I have always loved how this podcast speaks real fan’s opinion from day one. This episode, you nailed it DC/EJ. Bring back the glorious V10’s, scrap the DRS it’s the battle that we enjoy not necessarily an artificial overtaking move, smaller cars light weights maybe refuelling for good measure is the way to go. Unfortunately FOM seems to be focusing in this brining new young fans saga for than real fans nowadays.

EJ has a point. Not only did the red flag seem to hinder MV but the red flag was to total opposite in the race; - and the Race Director has been subsequently fired. This together with MV's first Championship suggests that someone has joined the FIA possibly from a country where absolute power and corruption and racism are the norm.

Eddie is absolutely correct. When Lewis drove Senna’s car in Brazil, the sound coming from that car is so beautiful and so Formula 1. Miss it so much.

Eddie knows that F1 is being destroyed from top to bottom. The sound is gone, the agility is gone, the spectacle is mostly gone. As human beings, we are driven by emotion, not logic. There is nothing more moving to the soul than a small, lightweight F1 car with a screaming V10 or V12 engine, even the Cosworth DFV V8 cars were great.

Nowadays, there is no soul in F1. The cars are boring lawnmowers.

I think with no DRS and big fat cars there would be near zero passing on most tracks except when it rains. That is why many of the best races are in the rain.

How many races did we see DC in a faster McLaren sitting behind a competitor just sitting there because he couldn't overtake them. He wished he had DRS in his day, he'd actually been a championship contender. Now the DRS is a problem? Yeah right, this is foolish talk.

Bring back V10’s/ proper pit stops ergo REAL strategy and take away DRS. I’ve watched the sport for 37 years- it’s becoming a procession.

I personally can't abide the waving of blue flags, overtaking the back markers should be part of the price you should have to pay for being in better equipment, it would introduce more jeopardy to the races and as such might improve the overall spectacle instead of watching the fastest car lead from pole to the flag as we've witnessed all too often recently with Vettel, Hamilton and Verstappen.

I hated the DRS when it came out.... but if you got to have it, I always thought the DRS should be work the other way round: let them to use anytime to catch up on the track, except when they are within 1 second behind the car in front!!
