OMG, this video help a lot. My passenger fan don't kit on, and I replace. Brand new. Relays are good, and dealer said computer are good. I think no one check continuity on my cables. I will jump on that. Thanks.

Thanks for this complete explanation.
Is it possible to check at which temp the controlbox activate the fans?
Mines are working but at a too high temp...

What makes the fan turn at different speeds? Does the low speed relay send less voltage to the fan motor than the high speed relay? Example low speed relay sends 6v and high speed sends 12v

great video that explains a lot, meaning lots of tips to figure out the issue I have, where my fans are normally supposed to kick off at around 215F, instead the engine bumps up rpm as if I hit the gas pedal for a fraction of a second. If you have a tip on what could be the issue please advise. I do not have the testing equipment you have (yert!). It's a Dodge hemi 2018. How I broke this is I started my car without the Tb connected, which triggered 3 codes... Then the issue started and is just non stop.

Hi, for 2001 honda civic. It has two fans. One on driver side amd passenger. The driver side turn ons but the passenger doean’t kick on at all. Is that mean the motor is bad. Fuse and relay are good since one is running. Inwas thinking the coolant temperature switch. But still makes me wonder it that bad none of the fams wouldn’t work. But since one runs i doubt the coolant temperature swiych is bad. Or am I wrong? Pls help

WAoh, great video. I have been having an issue with my volvo overheating. I changed out the fans along with the control units that they have they look like little square boxes, not sure if they go by different name. That did not fix the issue either. Maybe you can point me in the right direction but i will try your steps on this video and see if i can get any of them to fail. The FANS on my car will NOT kick on at all while driving. They WILL kick on once i stop and turn off the car but only if the car has gotten hot because if i have dont catch any traffic on my way to destination and front of car has gotten lots of air by driving lets say over 40 mph (most of my drive is highway not streets) the fans will not kick on after i stop. if i have catched traffic or made stops where i have to wait for lights they fans will kick on when i pull over and turn off the car. Sometimes if i catch a red light i will turn off car to wait for light to turn green and in that wait time i can hear the fans kick on, This is usually not an issue once outside temps are low here in GA but this summer has been hot and had already one hose crack on me. Hope you have some pointers, looking to replace car if issues keep rising with this volvo. FYI 2010 XC60 T6 AWD. Thank you sr.

What if you are also getting about 9v on terminal 2? When key off, no voltage on 1&2. When key on, I get 10v on terminal 1 and about 9v on 2

Thanks. Well done video. My daughter took off with my continuity meter in the truck..., my fault. Wait 2-3 hours, have a cool drink and lunch. All good. Thanks! By the way, I'm diagnosing a 2001 Honda Accord. Only one fan relay. Makes things easier yeah? Lol!
