Why would the Wind Fish care about a drought, much less be killed by one?

And why do these gods' absence in other games need an explanation? They don't need to show up in every game to justify their continual existence. It's kind of weird to assume that just because we don't encounter a specific deity in a particular game that it must be dead or gone. Hyrule is a big place. They could just be... literally anywhere Link currently isn't.

Maybe the next game will act as a prequel that establishes certain events that leave specific impacts on Hyrule that we've already seen in BotW/TotK.

Seeing the theme of flying whale-like creatures... What if the last leviathan was simply a mix between one of the Jabus and/or Jabun and that one sub-boss from Phantom Hourglass, the "Massive Eye," which was a floating whale-like creature?
Beyond it being another flying whale of sorts, the only rationale I have is by comparing to the concept art since the art had 6 spikes on the sides of the skull's upper head and the back end not having a tail fin. That said, the six spikes are SPIKES compared to the 6 eyes of the Massive Eye and the eyes were located along the body of the enemy. Plus there were 4 tentacle-like appendages instead of 2 fins...

As of Tears of the Kingdom being released, there's the Baby Leviathan with the Wind Fish Fossil burried Underground. It makes me wonder what happened and how and why there's a baby one.

Menacing thought about the Hebra skeleton... it was sealed away behind a giant iron door. What kind of deity or monster could it have been to deserve being sealed away for who knows how many years?

Jabu Jabu is my guess, waiting to finish the video to see if I was right.

I have to wonder if it's something that they're thinking of adding in a future game. So maybe it's something we haven't *yet*. Though it's also possible that they won't go back to the Era of Myth at all and will continue doing things distant from it.

I'm sure someone has already said this, but what if the third leviathan is a part of the leviathan race that once existed in Hyrule.
I say that because, there are multiple leviathan bones scattered about Hyrule, so many in fact that it's unlikely that there weren't more leviathans. So what if the third leviathan is the actual leviathan ancient race, and the others are meant to try and throw you off because they're references to other games in the series.

Hope to see an update on this now that Tears is out hoping they're still in the game.

So those wings remind me of the Goddess statues.....why couldn't Hylia be a wind fish? That seems like a kind of god, and Hylia is a mystery.

I have a theory on it they're supposed to represent past, present, and future by how old the games are compared to each other and the one in the future may be shown in a game at some point in the future

If we're considering what the 3rd leviathan might be based on existing creatures, I think the game might be hinting at it being Jabu Jabu. In Ocarina of Time he disappears and never returns when his environment freezes and in BotW you find the skeleton surrounded by glaciers.

Isn't the desert fossil called the "dragon's" fossil or somthing i'm pretty sure it is (isn't it?).
So by the name it's more logical for it to be a dragon fossil

They are literally whale skeletons. You can tell from looking at them and also creating a champion outright says it. People made Kaiju out of a reference to the great sea covering everything like it did in Windwaker same with the rock salt sometimes a whale is just a whale.

I think it's the Fish of Power. We got Wind/Courage and wise old Wisdom. This guy looks gannonish in the concept art so I'm stickin to this trifecta theory.
