Sony A7 IV BEST Cinematic settings for Video & Photo! Setup Guide 2023! FX3, FX30, A7SIII

I didn’t get why for video 1,2,3 settings we always set iso800. I anyway need to bring it down, otherwise it is overexposed

Im sitting in air conditioned room and I just turned it on for the first time and start to setup settings. But 10 minutes into your video (before I was able to complete setup) I got message about internal heat and camera shut down before I was even able to complete a setup. Is this normal? This is my 5th Sony camera and I've never seen anything like this before..

ISO was at 200 when you went through your 1-3 custom saved settings. Unsure how considering I watched you save it at 800 haha. Just something I noticed.

You said there was a problem with 8bit and slog3 in the old cameras. But you set up HD120fps with 8bit and slog3 for the a7 IV. So is this really recommended or isn‘t it better to record in 709 for HD120fps with 8bit? *Reposting a question that I have.

You lost me at changing the shutter speed...

Could someone please explain why some creators recommend using PP7 for S-Log2 in 8-bit, PP8 for S-Log3 in 10-bit, and PP11 for S-Cinetone, while Henbu opts for PP1 with S-Log3? I'm new to this, and I'm having trouble understanding why specific picture profiles (PP) are suggested for particular log formats. I'm currently using a Sony A7 IV, so it would greatly assist me in understanding this. Could someone please provide an explanation?

I go through all the settings but when i save it to dial 1 it doesnt save it defaults back to its original settings?

I process the video from my Sony A7 IV with the Topaz Video AI program, achieving excellent video stabilization and an absolutely smooth full-frame picture at 59.94 FPS (having converted the video using this program from 29.97 FPS).

This is the single most useful video of the A7IV I have ever seen, these guy made shooting in slog-3 fun

My settings on my a7iv are different in that when I use XAVC S 4K, I can only choose 25p and 140m 4:2:2 10bit, otherwise it’s 100M 4:2:0 8bit

I think you got the stabilisation wrong. Standard is OSS (when available) + IBIS and Active is digital stabilisation (think warp stabilisation with position & rotation) that's why there is a crop (just like in premiere with warp or any other software) so it can stabilise in post.

Hi @henbu! I tried these settings at a wedding but now I can't import the 120 fps videos into any video editing software. I just get a black preview screen. How do you do it? Please help!!

If i use the gimbal and the Image Stabilization of the camera is still turned on, will it work without complication?

Can you make a tutorial on sharpening footage? In one of your videos you said it’s better to leave in camera sharpening on -7 but how can you do better in post?

Great Video Henbu ! Most people might know this but still wanted to point out - While we can not configure the Fn button for any other functionality, the menu inside the Fn button is highly customizable and various different options can be selected and changed. To change the default shortcuts to other available shortcuts for both Photo and Video : 'Menu->Setup->Operation Customize->Fn Menu Settings (select and press ok on any of the shortcuts which will then allow to select other possible setting option to be part of Fn Menu)

I noticed my continuous auto focus is gray out and i can’t select it. Is it cause I’m using kit lens?

So at the moment I got the A6400.. but I want to upgrade to either the A7iv or the ZV-E1 or the A7Siii / FX3 (these 2 are a bit over my budget though) which one would you recommend for filmmaking, social media use, both photo and video?

A7iv: Price is great but I hate that there's a crop at 4k60&120.

ZV-E1: It's literally an A7Siii but has overheating issues, other than that it lacks normal hdmi (for Atomos Ninja V).

A7Siii: I was going to pull the trigger on this one.. I really want it because it has crazy low light performance, awesome dynamic range.. almost no crop (except 1.1x at 4k120 + has mechanical shutter for pics) only downside is lack of firmware updates & pricing :( (maybe I should wait for price drop?).

FX3: Same as A7Siii but without that beautiful EVF and has latest updates..

PLS HELP I can't DECIDE. :'(
