Eversolo Play Streaming Amplifier In-Depth Review & Sound Tests

@Tharbamar : Hello Tharbamar, thank you very much for this early teaser of this new Eversolo device. I found, that early, 1st impression often is the most revealing, as it transpires the initial finding of us being curious to find out.

The Eversolo DAC-Z8 was my very first DAC, and I subsequently got the DMP-A6 ME and the Zidoo Z9X 8K. I have been very happy with these products, and the app interface is outstanding and the best I have experienced. I am currently not in the market for this device ( still diving into the tube amps, which you introduced to my world ), but I hope your review comes helpful for other readers.

Did you use the DSP room correction and EQ?

WiiM Ultra plus Vibelink is close to the same price. Given that you just spent a decent amount of time with those, how do you think that they compare to the Play? Seems like the Eversolo is packing a ton of value.

What is the transistor inside? Please don't tell me it is TPA3255.

Will this amplifier be able to drive my Q Acoustics 3010c speakers, sensitivity only 85 dB? I'd use that as a near field listening desktop setup.

The most important question is if Play has ddc function? Which means, Is Play able to take signal from external transport - like cd transport or TV via arc and redirect it to external dac, also with bass management - crossover for sub (with still lfe active)?
Lack of DDC in the past was a disqualifying defect of the whole brand.

You will love it, until they come out with the Play Master Edition, then the Play 8, then the flagship.

Thank you for the nice review as usual. Do you recommend this to drive B&W 603 s2 thru Rotel RA1592 integrated amp? Basically I want to use this for playing Apple Music by connecting the streamer out, bypassing the builtin low watt amp.

The sound of cheap class D. Super squeeky clean and lean mids/highs, tight but ultimately uninvolving bass. Good features. . Get something like an Audiolab 6000a and a WiiM Pro and don’t look back. Thank you

I just wish they’d release a streamer only model with i2s out & top quality components inside but having said that love my A6 ME with upgraded linear power supply just don’t need the preamp.
So a stripped back sonically superior streamer only with i2s please 🙏🏻
