Today, London bus route 131 was retained with new electrics. These have not arrived yet, however Enviro 400 EVs have started appearing on the route. These buses are allocated to routes 57 and 157 (with the LG23s intended for route 151). The order for route 131 has not been announced yet, so Enviro 400 EVs could be the future allocation. Route 131 is currently allocated ex First Gemini 2s (WVN26 to WVN45). Gemini 2 hybrids and Gemini 3s also appear on the route.
Route 131 runs from Tooting Broadway Station (South Thames College), To Kingston (Fairfield Bus Station). Via Colliers Wood Station, Merton Abbey (Merton Bus Garage), South Wimbledon Station, The Polka Theatre, Wimbledon Bus Station (Kingston bound buses only), Wimbledon Station, Francis Grove, Worple Road, Raynes Park Station, West Barnes Level Crossing, Shannon Corner, New Malden (The Fountain), Norbiton (Kingsmeadow), And Kingston (Eden Street), Tooting Broadway bound buses only.
Route 131 runs around every 8 minutes. Route 131 connects to several rail lines, including... The London Underground Northern Line at Tooting Broadway, Colliers Wood and South Wimbledon, South Western Railway at Wimbledon and Raynes Park, Thameslink services at Wimbledon, The London Underground District Line at Wimbledon, And the London Trams at Wimbledon.
Route 131 is currently not stopping at Cromwell Road Bus Station due to its temporary closure. The bus station will reopen in Autumn 2024. Route 131 is run by GoAhead, London General. The route runs from Merton (AL) garage, And has a peak vehicle requirement of 21.
