The best advice for Atlanta is don’t go there lol. I’ve live here my whole life (54 years) and I’ve only been to downtown a handful of times. Atlanta is a sewer, stay away. But where you are in Savannah is wonderful.
ОтветитьAbout driving in Atlanta you are absolutely right. Not only is it crowded but people drive really aggressive on the connector (75/85). But i would also recommend taking advantage of the Marta especially if you want to get outside of Atlanta because it will take you pretty far and you can take it right from the airport. Just don't take it at night.
ОтветитьI'm a native Georgian with tree pollen allergies. It is TERRIBLE! I am dying every single March! But everything in this video was spot on. Especially the part about the southern hospitality. Everyone here is so friendly I find myself smiling and waving at people I don't even know.
ОтветитьAs a Georgian myself you hit this on the nose. I love myself some good sweet tea like mmmmmmm its some good stuff. My mom who is well from north doesnt like it and it makes me sad. Cause i looovvvvveeeee myself some good sweet tea. Also the humidity and temperature is horrible and the mosquitoes
ОтветитьJust a few expressions I've learned from my NW-GA wife and her family:
Hungry as a tick
Six of one, half a dozen of the other
Bless your heart
How are you? Finer than frog hair
How are you? Hangin' in there like a hair in a biscuit 😂😂
Second most Lynchy state, southern hospitality!
ОтветитьWolter, the next time ur in GA please visit and explore Macon.
ОтветитьMacon is a Georgia treasure, culturally and naturally.
ОтветитьI wouldn't go to Georgia if I was any of you, because you may easily go to jail because of the laws there.
ОтветитьIm flying over from Texas in June and will be living in Northern Georgia for a few months, i am exited to get to visit such a beautiful state and hope to get some time spent outside in the mountains hiking and fishing.
ОтветитьMy favorite state in the Union
ОтветитьGeorgia born and raised here. Don't #7 is 100% fact. Restaurants that don't serve sweet tea don't last long. We don't need that kind of negativity here.
ОтветитьI always watch your videos when I am planning a trip! Love them!
ОтветитьYou do realize that Georgia Tech is it in Georgia as well, right??? Lol
ОтветитьEvery self-respecting Georgian ALWAYS has a pitcher of sweet tea in the fridge, always. And, yes, all you all, the boiled peanuts are a MUST. My favorite Southern expression is, "Y'all stay sweet no, y'hear?"
ОтветитьLived here my whole life (Emanuel county) and this video is spot on!
ОтветитьFrom brunswick georgia I moved from there to kansas. and was watching this video because I was becoming nostalgic of the the state. Every thing he's saying is true 🤣 From the humidity to the sweet tea
ОтветитьDon't order unsweetened tea. You will be driven to the border and dumped off.
ОтветитьGeorgia girl here!!! It's a beautiful state!!
Make sure to visit the Chattahoochee river y'all, where country singer Alan Jackson grew up 💋☺️ Boiled peanuts are amazing , peaches are over played here , the Vidalia onions are awesome.
Beautiful beaches and scenery.
But it gets hot here and I mean HOT!!!!
If you come in the summer stay hydrated and wear sunblock. You'll love it otherwise!! Have fun.
Also, don't swim in Lake Lanier.
ОтветитьPiedmont Park in Atlanta is a nice place to walk, bike, or just chill out and have a picnic.
Ответить"Mad as a wet, setting hen " has always been my favorite Southern saying 😂
We do have a way with words, lol. Visitors aren't the only ones that have an issue with the heat and humidity, we natives don't care for it either!🥵
Don’t refer to Atlanta as hotlanta
ОтветитьI was born (one of the few who was born there and lived there) in Atlanta and lived there the first 30 years of my life. Don't expect everyone to have a Southern accent in Atlanta, because not many people do. Also, Atlanta is a real international city, we have people from all around the world there, so you can get a lot of authentic world cuisine there. Another thing, don't call Atlanta "hotlanta." No one calls it that. We do, however, call it the ATL (spell it out).
ОтветитьGreat video….we just got back from Savannah last night. We were there for a concert, we always love visiting there. We live an hour south of Atlanta. Our daughter lives in Atlanta so we are use to the traffic. But it is terrible. I do love that Ga. is such a friendly state. I’m the one that talks to you while standing in line at the grocery store. Can’t wait to watch some more of your videos.
ОтветитьI'm from Texas and I always say "Don't be ugly." I never realized it was a southern saying.
Om another note I love your videos! Your my go-to travel guru for the dos and don't when I'm visiting another state! Thanks for always giving great advice!
"Most importantly about the food" Dr. Wolters haha love it!
ОтветитьSuprised you mentioned helen ga thats the town I grew up in as a kid still live here just outside and its slowy but surely growing more and more every year.
ОтветитьHave you been in Helen? What is the best way to get there?
ОтветитьWhat is the best place to stay in Atlanta? (safe and family friendly)
ОтветитьDon't say"roll tide" when the dogs are playing Alabama
ОтветитьThe humidity aint got nothin on Louisiana, ya hurd meh. Less mosquitoes too
ОтветитьMane, im from Baton Rouge, LA. Waitin on somebody to tell me Well Bless Your Heart
ОтветитьGreat video . Very informative.
ОтветитьNew Yorker living in Atlanta the last 18 years. You are very correct in your video. The only thing that throws me is "need a buggy", which is a shopping cart.
ОтветитьRoll tide!
ОтветитьHow Bout them Dawgs! As a lifelong Georgian.. thanks for this video. Love the shots of Athens as well ❤️.
ОтветитьMobile Alabama, is known for boil peanuts too.
ОтветитьHey woltor can we meet up
ОтветитьThat picture of yours of the grits and shrimp looks delicious.
ОтветитьAs a GA native this is very accurate.
ОтветитьHow do you get the UGA graduate off your porch? Tip them for the pizza!
ОтветитьIf you are in Savannah in the fall from September to October. Go to a Georgia Southern football game! It’s a 40 minute drive from Savannah to Statesboro. The tailgates are awesome! Fun Atmosphere and friendly people stop by Gnats landing or El sombrero and eat some good food too!
ОтветитьManners...MANNERS... love the fact that somewhere in the world still holds those simple polite values...unfortunately a seemingly dying art.
ОтветитьGO DAWGS!!
ОтветитьDon’t forget beautiful Gainesville Georgia!
ОтветитьAnyone that lives north of Tennessee or north Carolina is a Yankee. Those that move here are damn Yankees. 😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьDon't move here, unless you like being owned by your employer where you will work 3 times as hard as the "inlaw" next to you and literally you get paid in peanuts...
ОтветитьGo Dawgs I love my state!!
ОтветитьI am sure he loves his peanuts
Ответить
