One of my top fave jazz pieces! Count Basie is such a classic to behold. I'll never forget when I requested my jazz guitar instructor, Mr. Stanfill, to have his big band play this song, and they just kept it going, and even played it twice back to back, followed by the one more once, and then a one more twice, and then they just did it to do it. They knew I'd overflow inside if they played it as epicly as they have. I may have been born in the 80s, but I have a love for jazz works such as this one.

Saw him live in Chicago,Il Jackson Park back in the day. The mayor of Chicago (Jane Byrne) came on the stage after the great Count Basie took his bow and she asked the crowd to join her singing, Amazing Grace. All of a sudden a great whirlwind storm blew in from the lake and lighting frightened her pretentious ass off the stage. I thought that was funny that she ws gonna lead a park full of south siders in a gospel song. God don't like ugly. Count Basie was great in his old age and the orchestra put on a great show.
