Gonna get mine set up 😊
ОтветитьAre the channels at different frequencies than in the US???!!!
In the US Channel 19 is 27.185, not where you had yours set for 19. (???)
Was going to get me ham licence just recently but could hardly find anyone on so bought superstar3900 setup and yes here we are back in 1979 nice vid dude
ОтветитьYes in the USA channel 19 is 27.185 mhz
Do you guys play outside of CB like pirate radio. If so shoot some videos of LSB and USB playing I would love that
Dead in warwickshire. Hands up if you had a roger bleep..
Ответитьhere in the US 27.185 is channel 19
ОтветитьCh14 was the calling channel in the 80s
ОтветитьI always thought it was 14 for a copy. Perhaps my memory is playing tricks on me after 40 years. A very interesting exercise and thanks for the info. Well done. Keep getting out there.😊
ОтветитьYour hot man good production very nice i like very much
ОтветитьWhat brand was that radio?
ОтветитьProbably a fair amount of preppers on there now. Me and a mate had a cb in his house with a 20odd foot ariel and a 30w (?) Booster. when we were early teens, then at about 18ish we had magmounts on a few cars and would drive off into local countryside to remote car parks to smoke joints chatting on the way and trying to find randoms to chat with. This would have been about 94 ish. One nine for a copy. Breaker on the side slide n grease yer bacon. Good Times.
ОтветитьStill have my midland Alan 78 from 1994 has LCD readout like that
ОтветитьI had a GP27 ariel and i used to struggle to get further than ten miles away.
But i lived in a bit of a valley.
I also had an AM rig. Could never get out on it but could hear Canadians and I'm in the UK.
I still work on 27.555 ! And it's still a madhouse there 😀❤
Ответитьl had a Reliant robin so the only way l could get my Arial to work was to put window alarm tape round one window then a glass mount Avanti Arial near to the tape my best copys 80 miles from Skegness to Bolsover n Derbyshire and two truckers in northern France off of the sea front at Skegness
Ответитьthese 891 ok for beginer from cb to ham cheers andy
ОтветитьI believe your right Andy CB is making a comeback ready for when the systems goes down.
ОтветитьWhat about using a AM CB like the good old days
ОтветитьGreat few vids, subd, got myself and wifey very interested in reliving our teenagehood 😊
ОтветитьWhat happened to 1 4 for a copy. I thought it was channel 14
ОтветитьI was into CB radio in the early 80's made a lot of friends-even though i was a kd at the time. Im told a lot of 4x4 people use it now.
ОтветитьCan you show how to put a portable set up like this into the car with the portable battery Ect
ОтветитьLoved my uniden 200 sedelta echo master plus desk Mike and skylab antenna 📡 😀
ОтветитьSuperb research … cheers for that matey ..nostalgia at its best..
ОтветитьOne solution for the mag mount
would be to have another powerful magneti on the inside under the roof perhaps,
But it may damage your interior roof lining.
Good grief this takes me back 40 years lol . Used to be a member of the 34 breakers in Honiton, Devon . Do you still need a licence for cb's these days?
ОтветитьFirst went on cb in 1982 would love to get into it again..
Ответитьtry holding a thin metal plate up to the interior below the spot where the antenna is located on the top and see if the magnet grabs it.
ОтветитьWhat a load of pointless nonsense!
ОтветитьPut a sheet of metal against the headliner of the car and it will hold against antenna outside
ОтветитьHere in lower Michigan, about all I hear is the Mexican skip when it's rolling, and the usual lids on the Superbowl channels!!!
ОтветитьWouldnt surprise me if my stolen radios are being abused on there, 2 spotless jumbos, concorde3 multimode3, hygain V's, plus a few others and probably my bv2001.
Then a total plank in Braintree who looked after my moonraker 4 and lost most of it.
Both cases are lessons learned never to get so called mates to look after stuff.
hehe this takes me back so far to when I was younger, this was massive when I were a kid, listening to people, trying to talk to them, it was fun lol
ОтветитьI see that the UK still uses these silly FM frequencies...
Ответить27.185 is channel 19
Ответить!USE A MAGNET IN YOUR CAR! To keep your antenna from falling. ( Might work ) Big one. Or strap some lock down straps across the top of the car .
ОтветитьStill as shit as it was then !! I have a mobile phone works much better
ОтветитьIn the U.S. channel 19 is 27.185.
ОтветитьJust done the same, channel 19 is absolutely chaos nobody moves of it and talks bollocks for Hours!
Channels 17 quiet
Ive been on CB since 1978 ... Never moved to HAM.
Around here... Its ch19 or nothing and plain English.
When the DXing starts and the wannabe ham speak starts. I turn off.
If I must use a 'callsign' LMAO at the thought. I use Bravo Oscar One ten X-ray
CB is relaxing to talk on. No worries about some person reciting regs to you like in ham radio. Cb does have it's baddies but it's still fun.
ОтветитьCB as a „gateway drug“ for amateur radio?
Ответить1 9 a rig check, 1 9 a rig check this is Alpha 19 can I have a 1089, over.
ОтветитьI stated on CB Radio and progressed to Amateur Radio.
2m is the Ham Radio version of CB and it is all, but dead. Which is a real shame.
I really hop CB Radio makes a come back
Good memories, it was channel 19 breakers channel for am and 14 for 27meg FM.
ОтветитьI actually got my ham license in 1968 but by 1970 CB was exploding in popularity and didn't get back to ham radio until almost the 1980's.
ОтветитьYour SWR would most likely be very high and maybe untenable because the Antenna is not Grounded. In your case with an Aluminium Roof you should try a No Ground Plane CB Antennas.
ОтветитьHiya can I ask what CB you are using?
Many thanks
what is the rating of the batteries? is it the one used for radio controlled car?
ОтветитьHey Andy that is one cool radio what brand of radio is that? İ am gonna get me one!!
Ответить
