Steam Deck Battery Replacement: Replace Your Dying Battery!

heres a question, do you have to reapply the adhesive on the new battery, and could you trim it down to just be around say, the edge of the battery or only a few small spots so that way if it does have to come out again, it isnt as much of an issue?

Just replaced my steam deck battery , I was 3 months past warranty so had to replace it on my own. The replacement was very easy and everything is working perfectly now! Thank you ifixit!

the 'deck is a decent piece of hardware, shame valve went with adhesive on batteryl nicely done iFixit team!

I've got 19 year old laptops with batteries that still work; this says A LOT about the steam deck quality.

Could you use the Apple Pulltabs when reinstalling the battery? Seems like this would make further repairs easier.

Why have I seen this before

Using adhesive on consumable parts like battery is not user-friendly to repair, and forgetting to discharge the battery when heating the adhesive is extremely, extremely dangerous. I hope Valve take notes from Asus and use screws to hold the battery instead on their next revision of Steam Deck
