How to Play the Pyro (Combo Pyro) - TF2

I'd use Degreaser more often but I'm absolutely smitten with my flamethrower skin and I feel I need the extra few airblasts because I reflect obsessively. There's just so much spam in your average 12v12 game and ammo packs aren't guaranteed like people think they are, especially on certain maps. Good content as always, looking forward to future uploads.

I've been struggling with pyro recently, mainly understanding my role in each game. Do you know what prompts me to or when I should switch between different pyro playstyles?

Hi, beginner pyro here, I've got like two hours in the game, how do you get more weapons? I've got a new melee for scout so are they unlocked just by playing?

Im a mix betwen the flank pyro, the offensive pyro and the defensive pyro
I use the dragon's furry, detonator and neon analiathor

i like to play a combination of the combo pyro and the flank pyro using the degreaser, detonator and axtinguisher

tip that helped me die less: learn your shotguns EFFECTIVE range, not just max range. I consider distance where the shotgun does less than 30dmg inefective
and even then, 30dm isnt much.
if you shoot someone with 10 damage, not only do you waste 1/6 shots, you also alert them of your presense.
ig everythimg after the first shot doesnt count.

Defensive combo hybrid when I'm pyro

As a doom eternal player which is used to quick weapon switching i like this playstyle.

There is no reason to use the Degreaser over stock if you're going to use the Panic Attack.

You forgot one playstyle... THE FUNNY! Dragon's fury, detonator, any melee, but neon anihilator is the funniest

i like using the dragons fury + flare instead of degreaser but i guess degreaser + panic attack is better for heavies

As a pyro who uses the Detonator for combo Pyro, it’s not as bad as it seems. The burst damage is low, but it’s surprisingly good. The midair detonations can help with landing shots if you miss, or ignite multiple people at once. It seems like a bad pick but if you use it in tandem with the axetinguisher or the backscratcher, it’s still a solid pick. The added mobility boost is also really nice, especially if you’re an expert at detonator jump tech. Try it, ya might like it.

I was around for the glory days of the OG degreaser and Axtinguisher combo, my main was degreaser, shottie/flare (depending on the range requirements of the map), and the Axtinguisher. This was before they got nerfed, it was criminal and hilariously fun. I've returned after a long break and I'm watching this video to get back into my Pyro main, this is a nice refresher course. As been playing around with all the new weapons and whatnot.

I didn't even know I was using combo pyro until I saw this video. I thought WM1 was too dumb and switched to shotgun and bam bam bam. I felt like I was actually good at the game while playing pyro

real talk.... it took me about 150hours in tf to get used to the projectiles coming from the right side ande not going where the crosshair points

The detonator can be good for setting them on fire air blasting them in the air then boosting yourself up for a cool extinguisher crit

So, basically the flamethrower should be the secondary and the shotgun should be the primary?

damn this dude is so good wish i could be like him i tried every single combo i even wasted so much time to craft panic attack but whatever i do i still cant do any of these combos not with flare not with shotgun and i basicaly cant even airblats enemies up cuz i dont get how....... im suck help :(

5:41 am i the only one that realized pirateer killed someone called "all pyros are gay"?

My loadout is degreaser panic attack and the homewrecker to deal with spys, combo, and killing buildings/saving buildings.

I play F2P, do I choose to stick with stock flamethrower or secondary?

I dont know what it is but every time you switch weapons to the degreaser it has this different animation that i really wanted to try out, i dont know how to find it tho
