Hello friends! In a couple of days the Tour de Fleece is starting and I plan to participate. I had too much choices of fleeces this year, but I in the end opted to spin a massive Suffolk fleece. Suffolk is one of the so called Down breeds. They have a short staple length, and a very pronounced spiral crimp. As I am an advocate for local wool, of course the sheep only graze a kilometer away from me. I shall be processing this fleece to be ready for spinning into yarn on June 29th! In this video you will see some skirting, scouring and carding of the fleece, but I want to stress again that this is not a tutorial, just me enjoying and relaxing with fiber arts and crafts!
