Has he been assessed for Parkinson’s?
ОтветитьThank you brother robot.
Ответить“Take your protein pills and put your helmet on. Ground control to Major Tom…”
ОтветитьFree form Amino acids are 10X superior to protein !
They are metabolized directly without requiring stomach acids & proteases to cleave the peptide bonds. They provide an excellent strategy fot those who suffer from hypochlorhydria (low stomach acids) and/or low enzyme output esp proteases (example incase of pancreatitis).
This process also does not strain the liver & kidneys.
I have made remarkable progress in health as a vegan by having both essential amino acids (all 9 of them) plus specific amino acids such as Glycine, Taurine, Tyrosine, Tryptophan, Theanine.
I pair them with the key metabolic cofactor - active B6 also called P5P.
Futher 5 gms of amino acids is Not equal to 5gms of protein. You'd need nearly 50gms of proteins to get to 5gms of high quality free form amino acids.
Eating Beef is not the solution for everything. Further, not sure how you'd get enough of folate, potassium, magnesium, vit C, Bioflavonoids, phytonutrients, & prebiotic fiber.....from beef alone .....unless you are consuming beef liver & kidneys on frequent basis which not all carnivores do.
Whey protein is a weak protein when compared to a high quality protein like whey protein????
ОтветитьThe information is valuable, and I am sure it took decades to accumulate and understand.
The Eaa (amino acid product) on the website is $75 for 30 servings, which, based on label, would not last a month. Its more likely $125-$150 a month, for this product alone. Seems high quality, but financially out of reach for the vast majority of people.
Another similar influencer shared their supplement routine, and it came out to over $300 per month. Health is the number 1 concern for all, except if you need the money for housing, food and retirement. Again, ty for the deep dive of info.
So nice conversation, but what people of this mankind evolution never makes clear, is about a very direct question. Is it better to take complete aminoácids (EEAS) or protein supplement, may be whey protein?
ОтветитьI wonder what you all both think of the latest research following ingestion of 100g protein and it all goes to building muscle over 10 hours and apparently there is no known upper limit.
Ответить⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
ОтветитьI'm a little late to the party. But in my opinion one of the most insightful discussions on amino acids and there probable benefits on aging, as well as possible outcomes if the proper ratios can be achieved/combined !!! Very thankful to you for this information Dr Lyon 🙏
ОтветитьThank you so much for sharing this conversation! I am particularly interested in this subject because of my mom. She lost a lot of weight due to loss of apetite and eating very small portions. Surely, she's not meeting her protein threshold for muscle maintenance and she's becoming frail. So I'm researching this to get her supplementation with either a protein drink or BCAA or other options. 🙏🥰
Ответитьif you have an allergy/intolerance to whey, is rice/pea protein isolates a good solution to supplement an omnivorous diet?
ОтветитьSo how much EAA should be supplemented per day? What is optimal?
ОтветитьI have a trainer who told me that bcaa supplementation would be helpful with exertion headaches I get from any sort of high intensity training or running. Is this true?
Ответитьawesome!
ОтветитьI wisj you would speak in lbs instead of kilograms, i was born and raised in American we know things better in lbs, now to understand you i have to go and learn how many kilograms makes a lb so ill know how much protein to take according to my body weight in lbs
ОтветитьI'm 75 years old been vegetarian since the age of 22 before the age of 22 mostly meat and dairy products I have no desire for meat for meat
ОтветитьSorry, but listening to
Dr. Wolf is like reading dry text.
He drones.
I'm constantly having to go back & relisten when I realize that very little of his dialog seems to be registering in my brain.
The content in this interview is SO important -REALLY good content, I think😊
but the delivery could use some improvement, IMO!
I’d love to see an interview with Robb Wolfe, too!
ОтветитьIn English, what are they saying- I can’t keep up
ОтветитьDo you think the region you are born in has an effect on what you should eat?
ОтветитьStill a little confused. I am wondering are the protein recommendations per pound of weight to be applied to your current weight? Or your goal weight? I have about 50lbs to lose to reach goal weight.
ОтветитьScoreboard: Gym Rats 35, Academic Science 9.
ОтветитьTo be honest this was painful to sit through… never getting to the point of the title of the video
ОтветитьCave man doctor
Ответитьwheres the studies?
Ответитьwanted to try the superfood but the link doesn't work
ОтветитьSo eat Protein, got it
ОтветитьI'm currently under treatment for Hep C. Because of this virus I have sarcopenia. I was told to stay of red meat but I do take some BCAA's as well as Taurine to help with horrible leg cramps. Would Keto or carnivore actually help me get some of my muscle back?
ОтветитьDr. Wolfe Has an amazing amount of useful information contrasted with a poker face.😊 At first I thought this was going to be boring, but his talk really helped to clarify my questions about what type of protein to use.
ОтветитьHow about pounds and ounces. Annoying
ОтветитьSo, if I understand Dr. Wolfe correctly, if I am intermittent fasting but need to exercise in the early morning, I can take a complete amino acid supplement before or after my workout and later, when I have my first meal, include collagen peptides that excludes the tryptophan but has the methionine, in my homemade nutrition shake. I also eat grass fed/pasture raised proteins along with vegetables/salad. That will help with muscle synthesis, balance out the dopamine - serotonin ratio that will not interrupt energy and sleep.
ОтветитьSo, basically whey isolate is still the best way of getting all the eaa and eating right along with proper exercise are still the best modality for health, - and beyond that therapeutic formulations of specific amino can be ingested or injected, which only super rich will be able to truly afford - is that about the right summary?
ОтветитьHere are a few studies that have explored topic of high protein diet and how it affects testosterone levels.
1. Effects of Dietary Composition on Testosterone: A study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism in 1986 examined the effects of different dietary compositions on testosterone levels in men. It found that a high-protein, low-carbohydrate diet reduced testosterone levels compared to a high-carbohydrate diet.
2. Protein Intake and Sex Hormones in Older Men: A study published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society in 2010 investigated the relationship between protein intake and sex hormones in older men. The study found that high protein intake was associated with lower levels of sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG), which can indirectly affect testosterone levels.
3. Protein Intake and Testosterone in Resistance-Trained Men: A study published in the International Journal of Sports Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism in 2006 examined the impact of high-protein diets on testosterone levels in resistance-trained men. The study found that high protein intake was associated with reduced testosterone levels.
Just eat lentils
ОтветитьGrew up with zero animal products, no highly processed food (anything not directly off a plant is “processed” but I mean foods enriched or changed etc.
everyone around me lived the same and they remained incredibly active and healthy. We were all SDA, which Lima Linda is also and constitutes the only blue zone in the US
Adventists have been proven to have longer lives
That said, I am in a period of not digesting plants as well as meats so until my body returns to proper digestion I’m eating more meats
My workouts haven’t changed though definitely I don’t feel the enjoyment carbs bring.
We do CARNIVORE, and drinks EAA/BCAA for training sessions and electrolytes after. It works for me and my wife.😊
ОтветитьThank you. ❤❤❤
ОтветитьI would like to see where it actually claims whey protein is easy to digest into Humans?
Absolute nonsense!👨🏾🎓
Bottom line. No one diet is cookie cutter and one must consume what their individual physiology can thrive with. No junk food. I also add in intermittent fasting every now and then. I listen to my body. I just eat some of all real food available to me at different times. That works for me. I grew up on a farm. Need I say more.
ОтветитьWhat Dr. Wolfe described is EXACTLY my concern, as likely many others. I'm 55, extremely active, would love to gain muscle mass, but want to limit calories. Getting enough macros (with emphasis on protein) is challenging--as he stated. Ahg!
ОтветитьWhat about blue zones 🤔
ОтветитьRaw Vegan 20yrs. Loved it, but now at 67yrs old I find that I'm getting frail. Now I take a whey supplement. I now eat eggs, yogurt and fish. I try to be as ethical as possible but I must live to. Thank you for your great podcast 👍
ОтветитьHello and thank you for a great video. I exercise regularly and take the Perform amino acid prior to and during my weightlifting workout. And I also take whey supplement twice a day. My question is that the Perform serving listed on the container is 6.3 grams per serving and the whey protein serving size is 38 grams per serving. How does the number of amino acids compare between the 6.3 grams and the 38 grams? I'm assuming the difference is the isolated amino content of the Perform amino acids vs all the different ingredients that make up the whey power. But is 6.3 grams a sufficient number of amino acids to consume to get the required benefits from my workouts? Thank you for you all your help and work!
ОтветитьCarnivore for two years never been or looked better.
Ответитьyes, glucose oxidation always has priority. it makes sense. and that is a basic foundation of weight loss to know this. theoretically that would make weight loss (as in fat loss) very easy to apply - theoretically. just cutting out carbs and you are done - theoretically.
practically there is also the health of the L-cells involved. they have to produce enough GLP-1 to keep glucagon down that then keeps gluconeogenesis down.
there is a SUPER IMPORTANT study from 2015 about proliferation of L-cells by a high fat diet!!!!!!
this underlines that switch from carb intake to fat intake which results in the growth of more L-cells over the next few days which ramps up GLP-1 production. and it also gives you an additional understanding of the adaptation process when switching to a low carb, high protein high fat diet.
recently, i added about 12g EEAs in the morning and in the evening to my diet. struggling with being overweight with 116kg, the EAAs at least make me feel lighter in the morning when i go to work (walking seems to be easier, which usually comes when insulin resistance is lower) and muscles around the chest are feeling stronger. i think the 2*12g EAAs make a significant difference
What is the difference between collagen and amino acid formulas and high quality protein such as cold water fish?
