Sounds fantastic.
ОтветитьI don't even have a helix but I watched this. Love your attention to detail, and thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьDamn, now I have to get one!! You are the tone master and such a great narrator when you make these videos!!
ОтветитьVery nicely done! You definitely know your amp modeling! Thanks for the video.
ОтветитьPatch sounds great! I just got the AXEFX3. It was a close call between Helix and the Fractal but I decided to get the Fractal because I had the AXEFX2 and sold it and always regretted it after.
ОтветитьThanks for the post Dave every little bit helps.
ОтветитьSounds awesome, bro!! That ESP is sick!
Ответитьdude that sounds awesome. You def put in the time to get these patches right. Hows the ESP? Looks like it plays like a champ.
ОтветитьI can’t wait to try this patch, thank you! Just subscribed, more videos please.
ОтветитьHmm, not sure what's wrong, but I downloaded your presets but I'm getting an error message when I click on them. "A model used in the presets is not recognized. Error 8312." So I first need to buy the 3rd party patches before the preset will install?
ОтветитьThere is no "Deranged Master" effect on my Distortion list, but I just now updated to 2.71 so that might be part of the problem why it won't let me install your customtone.
Interesting effect, using "Impulse Response" even though I don't have any. (Select is Empty). Sounds like the opening of "Owner of a lonely heart" by Yes. (I had to input everything manually since I can't install it.)
great video. I subscribed and liked. Excellent work. Looking forward to more content like this. I think that you are correct in IRs; they make a huge difference. I have purchased from ownhammer, 3sigma; choptones and redwirez. I also purchased presets from all the big names. The quickest way to learn the Helix is to reverse engineer other peoples presets.
ОтветитьHey man, thank for the video! Much like you I waited a while to get my HELIX, arriving tomorrow. Also, much like you I'm a child from the 80's, and love those tones! Really liked your tone here, not 100% sure about the Chorus? Was never a big fan of Chorus in overdriven tones, but the "meat" of it is really good stuff man!
Also, something I never though of doing was to put FX after the CABs! Too old school I guess, as you obviously can't do it with real gear :) But I can see how it makes sense.
At any rate, just wanted to congratulate you, I will be downloading your patch and giving it a shot man
Hey guys. This is hands down one of the best presets I’ve ever installed. Super disappointed that there’s only two on custom tone. Any more hems you can throw up there? Or plans for more in the future? Thx.
ОтветитьDave are you going to put up any with stock amps and cabs no IRs.I have the Helix lt.Just wondering...Thanks
ОтветитьIve just downloaded the presets. THANK YOU! Incredible sound out of my Helix. Just coming from 1 hour playing with them. Thank you very very much. I used Celestion, vintage 80s IRs.
ОтветитьInterestingly, I've concluded 3 things about my Helix patch exploration. 1) Its all very subjective relative to what we hear in our heads 2) IRs have drastic affects on tones 3) Creating tones in isolation or for recording is a completely different animal than creating patches for live gigs in a P.A. with a full band. E.g. In achieving cut thru a live mix less is more when it comes to distortion etc. In addition, many can achieve effective goals using something your ear would never consider. E.g. I recently downloaded Richie Castellano's Placater patch and purchased his favorite IR. Since I use my Helix mainly for live gigs I tend to seek out professionals that use it in this fashion. I was super surprised how warm his patch and IR sounded. In clips it sounds really good but trying it thru my ISP FRFR it something I would probably pass over on my own. You would think playing in a classic rock band and competing with other guitarist using real amp he'd get buried given what little high end I hear but he's obviously doing something right. I suppose everything warrants investigation. Perhaps many also rely on sound technicians to later tweak. etc. Lastly I often worry about cutting in a mix but hear a lot of clarity when I play back recordings of gigs when compared to the days of mic'd amps. Its almost like I'm using an isolation cab. I'm sure many amp purists would puke but these tools are pretty impressive for live gigs (especially when u have to be chameleon-like and have to achieve many tones at a gig.
ОтветитьHey dude nice tones man..i hope u could do more of this helix videos..im following\m/Cheers mate!
ОтветитьI sent you a mail hope to get a response from you
ОтветитьGreat Job!
Ответитьjosh from sweetwater is greatoo. unbelievable customer service
ОтветитьWhich of the actual IR's did you use from the two packs? I bought them and there's warm, balanced, brightX etc. Sounds a great tone though.
Ответитьsaying thanks from a dank, mid-Western basement in 2021.
ОтветитьYo!! What amp should I try for vh tone? Gimme 3 faves.
ОтветитьGreat Vid! I've been gigging with my Helix since 2015. 2 separate paths is a great approach. Try placing the compressor at the beginning and at the end of your chains. Definitely noticeable!!! Great work!
ОтветитьMANm great great job, this is the 1st video I watch from you, and I couldn t be happier when the tone, for sure tomorrow I ll check out more of your tutorials, hope to get much more of this 80s tones!! thanks again!.
