Seems like housing is the chief issue with pinching Americans' pocketbooks. The outlandish cost of housing these days needs to be fixed over the coming years. Build, build, build.

Live in Germany and the numbers seem incredible. Basically having no financial reserves, living from pay cheque to pay cheque and using credit cards ( the worst possible option if unpaid on time) seems like financial madness. This especially, as the social security payments worse in the US. Frankly found this alarming, as the USA is a consumer driven economy which seems to be unable to provide a good level of security for so many of it's citizens. On my visits to the US was allways told best and strongest country in the world to live - Germany maybe a bit old-fashioned, but for the average Joe you are a lot better off. If a recession comes a lot of these people are really going to get hit hard.

Close to 50 percent of Inflation is driven by corporate price gouging. This is not something companies HAVE to do, but the decision makers in these companies would have you believe it to be necessary.

Get a roommate. Rent a room. Get rid of pets, work 2 jobs. Learn a trade. Get rid of credit cards. Not everyone deserves to live alone in an apartment. Stop buying junk. You don't need a lot of clothes. You don't need fancy food.

to be good, you need at least 60k a year. Americans worldwide are too lazy to cook and spend at least 50 to 100$ a day on takeout when they can use that for food that you can cook. Its Americans spending habits more than "living comfortably", come on guys, we live a 1st world country. and also about budgeting money too.

What can we do about this to make life affordable and less stressful? I’m tired of hearing about the problems alone but no solutions. This world sucks and the united states is messed up. It should be illegal for people to be working and not able to afford to live. I live in south Florida working 7 days a week 12 hour shifts and still struggling to make ends meet this makes no sense 🤦🏽‍♂️

You can't get ahead with taxation as crazy as it is. Taxes for your cars, houses, paychecks, groceries, clothes. Rising utility cost, food costs, fuel cost. The ones profiting at levels never seen by overcharging for food, gas, and housing are vipers.

Comparing median rent to median wage misses something...
It should be median household income
The median household income in the us is >$75k.
That easily covers median rent.

Also if you're paying mortgage instead of rent... well you're already saving in a way (especially if you're living with kids in a bigger house than you'll need when yoy retire)

Finally if you just travel a little bit or study how people lived 30-50 years ago you'll realize that much of current day americans "needs" are actually "wants"

the answer is to many people are going from lower class to middle class, the government want the 60-30-10 rule for classes
60% lowerclass, 30% middle class, 10% upper class. once more people fall into the poor category, rates will start dropping and inflation will be over

wow it's almost like elections have consequences. We must continue to spread our borders wide open for the entire 3rd world to penetrate as well as fund billions more to Ukraine - Russia must not win at ANY COST. I'm fine with paying a dollar more in gas to save Ukraine! Also, we are fighting climate change more effectively now.

The biggest problem is companies and businesses owners, we are told that we are lucky to just have a job, we are told that we cannot have raises etc because the companies and businesses owners are not making money. We are all lied too. I think the government needs to step in. They obviously see it when these companies and business owners do their taxes. THATS THE PROBLEM. if all these companies are getting tax cuts and breaks and we are struggling I think the tax breaks need to end. The money needs to be moved back to the worker

Simple rule of thumb, you can not spend the money you don't have. No matter your earnings, you need to save at least 10% of your income. You cannot have your daily over priced Starbucks, paying for baseball, nba or footbal tickets, eat out every day, going to concerts, have several streaming means and ultimately building credit card debts and be financially secure. We need a book for people called " Finance for Dummies " and teach people finance.

Car is not a basic need. That's on US citizens so they can suffer. No one asked them to vote for politicians who don't prioritize good spatial planning and public transport.

Same case with universal healthcare

😂 let the wicked be rewarded wickedness for rejecting the Lord😂
“Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.”
