Damn. So I'm like 52 and my user picture was taken a few months ago. I've also never had any work done, I cannot afford it but I rely heavily on skin care since I was 14. The most I've ever done was my own TCA peel like once a year and red light therapy at home when I remember.

Not too long ago I was on reddit talking about skin care and I uploaded a no makeup, no filter picture with my age hopi g to help others. Over a 1000 comments, some good but many calling me a liar to I look horrible as they picked apart every inch of my face bullying me. It was so crazy I had to delete it all wirh a middle finger. Some would say they can't wait till I hit menopause then I would age. Having had a hysterectomy 10 years ago I didn't know when that woukd be.

Well they all got their wish. Over night it seems I aged 10 years with random hot flashes. My skin all over is showing my veins like never before. Literally overnight. Jowls, neck, undereye, loss of lip volume, lip corners, ugh all of it! Even my hair started coming out daily in chunks, very noticeable my hair hair has thinned. 😢

As of now I've been researching soy isoflavones in helping with balancing out estrogen. I want to try soy skin care as well.

I started with 0.01% (not a typo) tretinoin which is just as effective as 0.1% tretinoin after 1 year of constant use. It is gentle enough to use under your eyes. It has thickened the skin there and I no longer have dark circles due to veins showing through. And my wrinkles are greatly improved too. I only started in my mid fifties and my eyes are enormously improved and I’m not 60 yet

I'm 54 and as fair as a vampire. The sun sears my skin. Seriously, I feel like I'm on fire. So I stayed out of the sun most of my life. At 24 I decided to wear sunblock everyday of my life, rain, shine, no matter the season. I do tretinoin, Botox to prevent lines in my forehead and crows feet so my fine lines are very faint. I started Botox at age 34, also use minor fillers, and now derma rolling once per week, and red light therapy. I don't smoke, drink, and water is mainly what I drink. So I have done better in skin department compared to my friends who are sun worshippers. I love sunlight, but it just doesn't love me. :(. However, menopause is a bitch. And I am not willing to take hormone replacement because of increased cancer risk. Had bladder cancer when young, not willing to do anything to increase my chances for that. We do have skin cancer in my family too, so not going to go out unprotected. I live in Florida so you can imagine how hard it is to avoid the sun. Will be switching my sunblock thanks to this video.

Interesting that ppl dont/ didnt see or understand that estrogen / hormone loss causes the loss of firmness and elasticity etc. Changed my skin a lot, especially after my 3rd yr into menopause and I cant take HRT. Spent all my years in the sun until last 5 or so yrs...I need a deep plane lift lol but thats not happening so now I do the best I can with skincare and diet. Enjoy your life. God Bless

With all the ‚brightening‘ and fighting ‚discoloration‘ … my sister has vitiligo and is prone to ‚dry skin acne‘ (body is dry and flaky, face gets inflamed especially under stress and well - she is a teacher.
What do Retinol, Niacinamides and Vitamin C do to melanin rich skin? What does it do on vitiligo skin?

I'm 42 and always look for videos for women in their 50's. You mentioned glycolic acid and I agree. In my case I use it on my hands. Only thing that worked to make the skin more supple. I purchased an inexpensive 30% GA peel on Amazon for my face and didn't like it so I asked for a refund. Amazon let me keep it and then I got the idea to use it on my hands and it works wonders. I leave it on all night. Have done it a couple of times, a few weeks in between applications to let the skin rebuild itself. Also, the Dollar Tree has a retinol serum that I find to be just as good as any other. Great for the chest, other body parts. For a stronger retinol I use the cheapest version of adapalene I can find on Amazon. It works great, but I prefer the Dollar Tree retinol for daily use. Dollar Tree also has a vitamin C serum that I like. Also, there's a 12x12 red light panel on Amazon that I got for $24.99. Have been using it since May. Amazing, great for collagen production. I also use it on my stomach since it stimulates your fat cells to release their fat. Much safer than expensive and dangerous cool sculpting. I also recently purchased a $14.99 plant-based estrogen cream for collagen production to use on my face. It's amazing. The seller on Amazon gave me a $30 gift card so its a win-win. The brand is Vigority. Also, I haven't had botox yet, but there's a serum a bought that lives up to its claims of relaxing the muscles. Its called Triple Power martixyl 3000 and argireline peptides serum. I purchased and returned an argireline serum in the past so maybe it's the martixyl 3000 that makes the difference. Either way, I only paid $11.73 for two 1oz bottles.
Also, I recently started using an all natural African black soap made of cocoa pods, plantain skins. If you want a deep clean for your skin without stripping it, that's the way to go. Plant Guru brand from Ghana, around $6 for 8oz. I usually just use water to clean my skin. I have oily skin so makeup wipes right off, lol. In terms of supplements, I take a lot, but if I had to narrow it down to one recommendation it would be bamboo extract capsules, Carlyle brand is the cheapest. $17.45 for 300 capsules. Silica is the glue we need for collagen and elastin synthesis. Zinc, vitamin C-500, and liposomal hyaluronic acid are also important. Also, pumpkin seed oil softgels for hair loss. 🙂

Dear Doctor! Merci beaucoup pour votre bon video. (I am LA3 in French 😂)
I am 57yo, menopause form 51 🥵, skin due genetics and careful exposure to the sun isn't so bad.
But of course is aging and sagging 😅 Liked your comparison with Sofa😅
I am taking care of my skin, avoid crazy South Australian sun as much as possible (moved from Baltic country to SA 11 years ago).
I have sensitive but not too crazy sensitive skin with light rosacea.
Some days ago I bought double cleansing Duo from professional Australian brand Skinstitut.
Cleansing oil with squalene as 1st step was absolutely fine but
second Cleanser with Lactic acid not really. Left my skin red and tingling.
What do you recommend - not to use at all or just use as a once a week treatment?
My hands though love it 😂
Thanks in advance ☺️
