Orba 2 vs. Orba 1 – What's the difference between? – Orba by Artiphon

Any hope for a new Instrument One(two)? I've played mine daily for years.

I bought the Orba 1 a few months ago and stopped using it a few weeks later because it didn't allow me to record custom samples. The built-in presets got boring really quickly.

I was really hoping for a firmware update that would fix the shortcomings. It seemed like the obvious next step so I was really looking forward to it.

Now, you've solved the problem, but I have to buy a completely new Orba 2. That's unfortunate.

The difference between the two is that the first one was a waste of money and time.

Orba 2 has the full subtractive synth engine from Orba 1 in addition to the new sample based engine? There has been so much focus on the new features, that this is the first time I think I've heard that. I generally prefer synthesis, but samples are fun sometimes too and the improved sequencing features would be great to have, but I've been holding off because I thought Orba 2 didn't do synthesis like Orba 1 did. If you can confirm that it actually does, I'll order one right away!
