Still rocking my 6700 ... with 7900 XT I get 60+ FPS on 1440p MAX settings and since my monitor is 60hz I'm perfectly fine. I've been planning on getting the 7800x3d, but it seems I have to get a new monitor first for it to make sense.
Ответитьits 2023, and looks like my mobo failed asus z170-e + 6700k; so came out of pure curiosity here. Swapped for 5800x + 570s Aorus Master - with specific plan for those.
Ответить6700k to 5600x3d worth it?
ОтветитьI only moved on from 6700k last week. It was a good workhorse.
ОтветитьThink my 6600k just died. Had it overclocked to 4.5 GHz since it was new in late 2016 and the PC is suddenly boot looping on its own. I was able to POST few times (cleared CMOS numerous times), but I got one last boot into windows which immediately hardlocked, and it's just boot looping now.
Ответитьi still use the i5-6600k but i plan to upgrade to a i7-13700k in a few month. for normal users like my parents the i5-6600k is perfect, but for gaming nowadays its a bit lacking
ОтветитьI've been gaming for the last 2 years on a i7 6700 HP ProDesk machine that i got for free from an office that was just throwing them out! You'd be surprised how capable an old throwaway office pc can be. They thought they were slow, but that's only because of the spinning rust hard drives they were using.
Transplant it into a cheap case with a budget PSU, a graphics card and a cheap SATA SSD and you have yourself a solid gaming machine for pennies.
Where's OC'd 6600k?
Ответить6600k crew checking in (☞ ͡ ͡° ͜ ʖ ͡ ͡°)☞
ОтветитьDo you test using the same Graphics card on all the CPUs?
ОтветитьCould you do another one of these videos for people who held onto their i7 6-series or other 4-core configurations in 2022? I'm so confused on what to do, and this system is just such a perfect configuration. Great timing to get in before the GPU price increases and still get a decent CPU, but the rapidly rising core counts are very attractive. Just not sure if I need more than 4 cores for gaming, although I do love my i7 and hyperthreading.
ОтветитьI really enjoyed 6700k. I had the option to go with a 7700k but clearly Intel peaked at 2-4th gen. First now with 12th gen did we really get something good from Intel. So when picking when to build I settled on a good deal 6700k. Such a improvement from a I5 2400. Was not going to let that disappointment ever happen agen since that doomed me from having the epic 2th and 4th gen CPU's just because 2400 was 'good enough'. It really made no sense to skimp out on the CPU.
Was possible to upgrade and run 32GB 3000Mhz ram on my 6700k. Never OC it much and have ran it stock on a NH D14 for most of the time. Never found a reason to go faster and even at full load it was not very loud. How about that a overkill cooler helps. Still a grate system and makes me very sad that I did not get some of that 2500k or 4790k action!! The worst thing about 6700k is that the older stuff looks so good in comparison! 6700k never catch a brake! It sucks looking forward or backwards!
Still have a use for my I5 2400. But to think that old thing can have lasted me to 2019 and still not really hold one back?? That is just bonkers. But 2400 was really not enough even for Fallout 4 and just stupid AMD drivers :c. I just had to get something better and 6700k fit the budget. And seems like I was right that there was nothing better to get for years to come.
I'm still using 6700k and having a great time with it! Upgraded from an R9 fury to the 5700XT before the pandemic hit, I'll might finally upgrade to the 13th series later this year and possibly with the upcoming 7000 series
ОтветитьTook 2 years but got a 6700k and z170 for 60 bucks plus a fatboy 590 for 70, so budget gaming rigs are certainly obtainable now
Ответить50$? How do you even find anything at that price
ОтветитьWould be really cool to see how the 6700k stacks up compared to the current gen of processors, seeing as how after watching this video 2 years ago I decided to not upgrade, as the money investment wasn't that big a jump, but now that Intel and amd are slugging it out making monster chips, to see how such an old chip stacks up, especially in (admittedly rare) instances of thread bound applications like Arma 3
ОтветитьJust replaced my 6600k I bought in 2015 with a 12600kf. That processor really served me well but it was the bottleneck.
ОтветитьInteresting video. I currently use a 3700X, but my previous CPU was a 7600K.
Ответитьim still on 6700k in 2022! 4ghz means in game performance is not as much slower than todays processors as you might expect
ОтветитьFinally I'm getting one in 2022. XD
Ответить6700 are far more expensive than 50 bucks in 2022 :)
Ответитьwatching on i5 6600, ... in 2022 ... and you know what, I will probably not upgrade since it is doing it's job (with 1070 playing anything on high on 1440p and getting 60-120fps) and it is freaking super silent compared to the new generations. Will wait for ARM architecture windows (dreaming) or some equivalent of M1 as the x86 architecture is becoming ridiculous in it's power/heating requirements. And lower nanometers production is not the answer, the instruction set needs and overhaul.
ОтветитьThen there's i3 10100f that outperforms these cpu by a small margin with significantly better price to performance ratio.
ОтветитьI know the video is 2yo now but as a 6700 (non-k) user this very helpful.
ОтветитьWindows 11 wont work with these?
Ответитьwow the 6700k can only get 143fps average... yuck
ОтветитьI’m running an OC 6600k and my motherboard only handles up to 7th gen but it seems my best upgrade is just getting a 6700k and forgoing the 7th gen totally. Right now my i5 is water cooled running 4.3ghz.
ОтветитьIf only cpu manufacturers would produce modern architecture for slightly older boards
ОтветитьSell me that i7 6700k for $50. I'll take it.
ОтветитьI bought one yesterday for 110$
ОтветитьI need help, guys should i use i5 6600k or ryzen 7 2700x? I have bouth of them
ОтветитьI'll keep my 6700k until I get a system with DDR5, it's still a great CPU in combination with my 1080Ti and since I can't upgrade my GPU anyway I'll stick with both.
ОтветитьI recently upgraded from my old i5 6600K to a Ryzen 7 5800x, and don't regret it, I could have gotten it way cheaper if I had waited a week or 2 though
ОтветитьI would have liked to see more oc 6600k performance as was shown w the 6700k. I’m putting a 9700k on the Z170 board I bought years ago!!
ОтветитьJust found this by chance.
My set up is: [email protected], 4x4GB RAM, Asus Maximus HERO VIII, Gigabyte Aorus Master 6800 XT and I cannot get above 112 fps average in SOTTR at 1080p, medium settings benchmark. This video shows 132 at stock 6700k and with a slower card (2080Ti). Any ideas on how this is possible?
Its 2021 and I'm still rocking a 6700K and (gasp) AMD R9 380. With the info in this vid, the best value upgrade would be the GPU, but it just goes to show that the 6700K is still relevant compared with today's newer processors.
To be honest, the AAA games of today aren't compelling enough for me to drop $60+ a pop on them. And I have so many older games that I still play and/or still need to play that run just fine on my platform.
Even though this video was made over a year ago, it confirms to me that I can wait on upgrading for a few more years. Thank you for all your hard work Gamers Nexus!
Your representation of the price of a 6700k was wrong then and has only become even more wrong. I7 6700k can't be found on eBay for early starting bids at less than $120 in February 2021. Most are asking for $150 for buy now. You were never right. The premise of the video is completely undermined.
ОтветитьTalk too fast dude
ОтветитьYes I can comment sitting on a MB with i5-6600k thinking of upgrading to gen7 i7, looking at prize equal to latest Gen Intel .... thinking of upgrading to i7-6700 now since at least that one is actually cheaper then it used to be. Damn it upgrading with old hardware is like Overclocking, just as painful and useless as you expect it to be.
Ответить0.01% lows on and CPUs are a bit shit
ОтветитьMan this guy needs to work on reading more natural.
ОтветитьNow you can only buy them on ebay
ОтветитьGuess I'm upgrading my main rig's 6700k this year... if 11th gen comes like a beast :)
ОтветитьI have just upgraded from my 6700K I bought in 2015 to a Ryzen 9 5900X
ОтветитьJust bought a 5600x AMD to replace my 6600k and ive been trying to grasp just how much faster it will be considering the 3600 is 40% faster and the 5600 is faster still... I'm looking forward to the upgrade 🙂
ОтветитьHi I have your same configuration 6600k with a motherboard that supports dd3 (32gb) and 1060 6gb. In your opinion it is appropriate to switch to a 6700k for 80 euros. Or a 7700k for 150? (There's much different between 6700k and 7700k.)
And when will it be available to add a 3070?
I currently I have a i5 6400 and im gunna upgrade to an i7 7700. Didnt want the K due to motherboard limitations and wanted the least amount of effort for an upgrade
ОтветитьShould i upgrade my i7 870🤔
