Ah, yeah - phong shading was the shit back then. Every CS:S tex replacement for gloves and sometimes weapons had phong. Also TF2 textures were awesome.
Shame they dumbed it down (though some seemed improved). Also the dynamic model elements made static. Kinda missed the good stuff- incl. the cannon being awesome and kinda OP. Now I hardly find it worth going back - things are way too different. Still a great game though. :S

It looks like they basically tried to make all the details go away to make it less distracting? But it has so much more charm….i wish I never seen this bc I thought tf2 had the most charm out there, but it used to be 10x more!

Saddest one for me is the heavy's minigun not being shown anymore. Makes me really nostalgic whenever I see it

that improve is good , can be played by lower computers.

Might just be a Medic main talking but I think the rotation of the syringe gun is the worst change. Feels immensely less fleshed out without that animation.

It's funny that most of these changes are either completely inconsequential or just better

i have the orange box disc for xbox 360, and gotta say it has some things i like better than the current versions
