Michael Parkinson is only 39 in this video. Why did people look so much older back then 🤷🏻♂️
ОтветитьThe final part of his Churchill speech literally sent shivers down my spine.
ОтветитьMy goodness Burton smoked! Parkinson should not have allowed the smoking. I had to stop watching the interview cause of the incessant smoking. Such a shame
ОтветитьWell Burton can't do impersonations that's for sure. Bloody ridiculous, but he was a talented man nonetheless. Parkinson, a complete fraud of person.
ОтветитьParkinson was a prat then, and especially now!!
The great Michael Parkinson, who by some fate conned his way onto our screens. How he became the great of interviews I'll never know,he's total rubbish at small talk, and his inferiority of his betters shows through.
How this fool, and it's dreadful wife took our screens hostage, will forever be praised as the great interviewer. B,s .
They filmed the interview at noon instead of the evening because Burton would be drunk by than. That’s why Parky was casually dressed and the audience was the canteen staff!
ОтветитьHe is only 48/49 here looks so much older
ОтветитьI like him simply because my dads called Richard Burton 😂
ОтветитьPoor Richard, please read about what happened to him
ОтветитьDoctor or nurse is better
ОтветитьWhy prayer these people
ОтветитьWaste over time
ОтветитьJust drunk old git
ОтветитьLooking for Under Milk Wood
ОтветитьWorld of Burton,
Thanks for providing this entertaining and insightful interview between Richard and Michael Parkinson. Perfect chemistry between interviewer and interviewee demonstrated.
Imagine being in poetry reading with dylan , buryon abd gillgood
ОтветитьParky has woken up in charity shop cast offs. Like him and miss this show.
Burton seems reticent and shy.
Here from listening to the James song "Getting Away With It".
Ответить....judt watched another Aristo type actor "Ollie Reed" , this chap is the polar opposite, for me anyway .....to full of his "yes men" 😜...
ОтветитьSuch a distinctive voice with a command of language.
ОтветитьOne of Richards films was Ann ot the 1000 days ! i have watched it so many times but never get bored with it ! Amazing actor the very best . rip richard
ОтветитьBeautiful man inside and out. Could listen to him forever!
ОтветитьWasn’t expecting the Ferry.
ОтветитьBrilliant Actor but a troubled soul towards end of his life
ОтветитьRichard Burton:
excellent voice, great stage presence, not so hot on film. He just wasn't a movie actor.
And maybe the competition was - shall we say - 'less aggressive' ? in those bygone days.
Forget alcohol; he’s smoking himself to death in front of our eyes.
ОтветитьBrad pitt and Angela were sometimes refered to Richard an Liz. That is very far from the truth their acting abilities dont't hold a candle to their talent.
ОтветитьThere will never be another Richard Burton.
Cheers And Sweet Memories.
A SAD WASTE. He drank and smoked because he had no discipline, and couldn’t deny himself his hedonistic pleasures. He boasted about drinking two bottles of hard liquor a day, starting at midnight. What a fool. He also slept with lots of women, including wives of his friends, behind his friends backs. Stewart Grainger for instance who was his friend, and who’s wife Jean Simmons, Burton screwed in Grainger’s own house, while Grainger slept in the next room. Hence he was hated by both the British acting community and the Hollywood executives and producers, who’s wives he also screwed or tried to. Hence he was denied any Oscar. He lived entirely for himself and to satisfy his pleasures. He even slept with an underage school girl, and almost got caught. He didn’t give a damn about hurting all his wives by being a serial adulterer, and then lying to them to cover his arse. He was completely without morals. I used to love his acting when I was young, but now I detest people like him. Good riddance.
ОтветитьWhy can't they show the whole show? Horrible editing!
ОтветитьI know he's a november scorpio,you can see,he's emotional, deep, aloof at times,sensitive intuitive , self-destructive at times. ❤
ОтветитьCould watch n listen all day great to see a real face n soul, shame about paying millions for stones
ОтветитьHonest
ОтветитьInteresting very
ОтветитьI'm surprised he even have a voice with all that smoking 😢
ОтветитьIncredible actor. Incredible. But I've never agreed with his famous quote "never trust a man who doesn't drink". That, to me, is an alcoholic trying to justify his alcoholism.
ОтветитьNot sure why this interview is making me want to cry. Possibly because actors like Richard Burton were so unique, his voice, his raw honesty, & that Parkinson has now past away also…..
ОтветитьThat Lee Marvin impression was brilliant 🤣
ОтветитьHe was fascinating to watch
ОтветитьHis speaking voice is to die for and a fantastic actor with a wicked sense of humour. Broadsword calling Danny Boy.
ОтветитьBoth with body language indicating they were retracting from each other.
Interesting to note how much footage was cut as Burton Lit and Finished a ciggie under a minute.
He died at only 58 - years after this talk. And he looks sixty. It must've been awful by the end.
RIP.
Wasn't life great then you could smoke .Amazing difficult awkward man but listen to that voice.
ОтветитьBoring
ОтветитьI sort of liked him but coudnt understand why??he was rated so highly?
ОтветитьAmazing interview!
ОтветитьGreat interview! Wonderful to learn more about Richard Burton. Very insightful questions.
ОтветитьFirst of all, so-called "Richard Burton" is not his real name. I think it's a disgrace and shows complete disrespect of one's heritage to change their birth name, unless when a woman gets married. If a woman gets married and DOESN'T change her last name, that shows no respect to her husband. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the name "Richard Walter Jenkins Jr"! The change was probably made as a result of pressure from a greedy Business Manager and or Studio, with respect to perceived anticipation of greater recognition and subsequent monetary gain?!
ОтветитьMr Charisma. What an actor, what a voice.
ОтветитьRIP. Parkinson a great interviewer 😊listened & a great sense of humour 😊
