I bought an LG c2 today. I have one question. On my ps5, every time i start or close a game, it goes dark for a few seconds and then the game screen shows up. Just like in your video but a bit scarier 😂. Why? Is it normal?

I absolutely love this channel because I'm a cinematographer by trade and I feel like we have a very similar mindset to image reproduction. It's great to see someone else in the field who pays attention to this kind of stuff.

Would these settings still be optimal for a C2?

This HDR setting are absolute trash, the OLED brightness, contrast and peak brightness are set to the max and make the screen impossible to watch whitout burning your eyes. Too bright and too dark at the same time or to gray if you try to mess white the tone mapping.

Try this setting:
Console RGB: Limited
On the TV: Console mode not the PC mode in the type of HDMI input

OLED Brightness: 87
Contrast: 88
Screen brightness: 42
HDR Tone Mapping: ON
Black level: Complete (while limited on the console)
Peak Brightness: low (during night), medium or hight (during sunny day)

Color: 55
Temperature: warm 50


In game optimizer
Prevent input lag: boost
white 10
black 10 (change to 13 if the dark zone are too dark, like in ghost of tsushima)

There was probably an update, PC mode and console games mode They are currently absolutely identical with both providing chroma 444. This information is given by the TV itself by pressing the green button seven times.

Will these settings work with a LGC3.

My sharpness is greyed out and stuck on 10. How do I fix this?

When setting the TV out, put to PC, I still get YUV422 and not 444.
Why is that?

@HDTVTest Do these settings apply for the LG C2 OLED running on the latest firmware update on a PS5 running the latest firmware update.
Does disabling VRR, NVIDIA G-SYNC, and AMD FreeSync Premium from the Game Optimizer settings on the TV improve the picture quality such as color?
I primarily play 30-60FPS and never use VRR, ALLM etc. so I have those disabled from the PS5 & TV.

Is it necessary for backlight and contrast to be at 100% to take full advantage of hdr? Because to much brightness gives me eye strain and watery eyes the next Day. This modern technology is hard for the eyes nowdays.
