Overrated
ОтветитьOnce in a while Kubrick would let us know about the obvious narrative of his movies even tho the real meaning is drowned under layers of metaphors.
ОтветитьI hate to love and love to hate explanations of art. It's like explaining a joke, takes all the air out of it. This movie means so much to me, \changed how I think about life on a daily basis and it feels like that feeling is being stolen from me once the creator explains the art. Kubrick is my favorite director I'm puzzled why he would mouth off about his movie like this.
ОтветитьThis movie is garbage
ОтветитьI was hiding under my movie seat as a 5 year old when I saw this
ОтветитьIt’s a shame somebody needs an explanation
ОтветитьDude..... or i am a cultural butcher, but... the first half of this movie is insane good. But.... the rest is wasted on me
ОтветитьI know we’re supposed to assume the vague ending was intentionally vague, but if nobody can figure out what the ending means, you MIGHT have done a bad job directing it.
ОтветитьSomethings going to happen....
Floyd: what's going to happen?
Something wonderful.......
One of the greatest films ever made and will ever be made……
ОтветитьNot gonna lie, I was close.
I thought the monolith was some type of appendage of a 4th dimensional entity child. And this entity was set on wanting a human pet, but when it went to grab the early monkey human its 4th dimension mom told it "No pets!" He was too young to care for a human. So it just played around and watched the monkeys.
Sometime later the entity was playing in the dirt on the moon, and decided its been awhile and it was time to ask its 4th dimensional mom again. She promptly said no, and he started to cry. Causing that high pitched noise.
Finally, later on, near Jupiter the monolith saw this man. This time would be different, instead of asking 4D mommy, it asked its 4th dimensional father. The father said he didnt care and to clean up after the human. Out of excitement the monolith yanked him into the 4th dimension and made him a 3rd dimensional aquarium.
😂
ОтветитьHow in the hell am I just now seeing this?
ОтветитьThere is also an episode in first Star Trek series.
ОтветитьThis is not his voice...so who's explaining?
ОтветитьAt last.....Finally at last!!!!
ОтветитьSo ... 2001 is the start of an apocalypse film, because their is no way you can give someone a life of solitude, transform them into a super being then stuff them back into society with zero repercussions.
ОтветитьHeroin is a hell of a drug.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing this. I absolutely loved that movie. Kubrick …absolute brilliance. Clark also brilliant. I have watched 2001 every two years since it came out ( I am in 2023) and each time it still thrills me but the end always mystified me….so again gratitude for sharing this!
🙏💙
Genius
ОтветитьI had absolutely NO IDEA that's what was happening!
ОтветитьYou know this whole time I thought Stanley Kubrick was British because he lived in the United Kingdom but then I heard his Boston accent.
ОтветитьMovie was two pack of ass
Ответитьoooohhhh now I get it lol
ОтветитьWhen you have to explain your movie to people… you messed up somewhere along the way. Genius shmenius
ОтветитьSaw that old movie when I was a little boy and no other movie had such an impact on me...
ОтветитьI’ll tell you what happens, he releases sex 2, the sequel
ОтветитьIt’s just Nietzsche
ОтветитьDo we really become stars after we die and before we’re born?
ОтветитьIf you read the book this is clearly detailed, I do wonder how much of this was actually Arthur c Clarke's vision and not Kubrick's
ОтветитьIn the book, he returns to Earth and prevents a catastrophe involving a nuclear satellite, something like that, I don't remember
ОтветитьThats what basically happened in the book which was written in tandem with the screenplay.
ОтветитьGood luck. The visuals were great. The message was lost and is lost.
Ответить2001 A Space Odyssey is such a wonderful, interesting, spectacular, & iconic movie I’m glad my teacher showed us movies like this also just so many more
ОтветитьGood movies , garbage human
ОтветитьDid he say all of this over a phone?
ОтветитьOh thank goodness! All this time I thought he was cock blocking himself…😒🤣
ОтветитьI absolutely hated all of the irrelevant empty scenes with the music. It wasn't genius. It was a pompous disregard for the viewers. This whole movie could be abbreviated to half its length or less. Too artsy to be coherent. And no. I'm not a swine. And those who enjoyed it are NOT enlightened. They just want to believe they are.
Ответитьwhat. the. fuck.
ОтветитьStanley Kubrick presents: superman
ОтветитьThat sounds.. so.. stupid. The actual history of how man came into being is so much more beautiful and intriguing. I wish someone made something like that.. the dawn of mankind..
ОтветитьHits DMT pipe mmm this may be a good script xd
ОтветитьYes, and this needed a 7-minute space lsd scene to get to? This movie is one of the most pretentious I've seen.
ОтветитьToo bad the sequel sucked. 😂
ОтветитьFake Kubrick interpretation...the embryo was the aeon of the new age...the transition from Pisces to Aquarius as the precession of the equinox dictates...
ОтветитьWhen he comes back it becomes the monument mythos
ОтветитьWow.
ОтветитьI so got it when i first seen that! NOT!
I woulda never guessed
This movie is too smart for me. 😅
ОтветитьHis explanation makes it seem “well of course” because it’s so good, you couldn’t understand it any other way
I just saw it as a bunch of random stuff happening
