We are staying a month in Pattaya and feel like Chiang Mai might be a great spot to extend it. We also travel full time so checking bags is always a hassle. Train sounds like the way to go!

it is a beautiful journey, did it some time ago in 2nd class recliner seats from the centre of Bangkok. Can see why they might want to reduce the trains from there as people live very close to the track. What a contrast from Bangkok to Chan Mai!!

What a beautiful family. You all have such friendly faces. The room looks to be just slightly larger than a roomette that you would find on an Amtrak train in the US. I don't think I have ever seen a long route train where you can open the windows. This is pretty unique.

Omg, I took a sleeper train from Palermo Cecily to Munich Germany and I don't think I've ever slept so soundly. It was a great trip. I was ready to rock and roll when we arrived in Germany. If you ever get the chance, take a sleeper train. Obviously you don't taje the train for the money. It's about the experience, photos/scenery.

I've been coming to Thailand for 22 years, i can't stand cheap charlie foreigners who complain about being ripped off by the Thai people, when there quite happy to pay £4 for a coffee in there country or £80 for a taxi ride to the airport. And then all of a sudden there mindset changes when they come to Thailand and want everything cheap. Be happy to help less fortunate people then yourselves and stop crying over a few bht.

After 2024 the new chapter of thai railway service and travel. They will have double track in some route save more time than today. New some passenger car for first class and second class with AC and smart entertainment monitor like a aeroplane. The new toilet room like a aeroplane too.

You've got a new subscriber :) Came into Chiang Mai 12,5 years ago with a 5-years old, 3 years old and 1,5 years old. Did some train journeys both ways and even one time to Surin. Living here since 12,5 years ago. Train is fantastic (with just some small backpacks)
