Beautifully filmed (as revealed by the 35mm print) and has a wonderful soundtrack. There's a general Anglo-centric bias though, a serious lack of respect for the achievements of earlier cultures, and in some ways a lack of imagination. EVD and his colleagues really couldn't see past their own filters.

I have a feeling the first part with the Plane effigy etc ... Is somewhat 'staged' they are terrible wigs and terrible actors and one of them even had an ear piercing. I read the book....I was shocked n disappointed bc of all I'd been taught....but the truth is hard to avoid....I've always thought something was with mans history ...something like this....but god doesn't reside on earth...he lives in the heavens....so it makes better sense ...

i believe it possible that man has been visited by 'aliens' at some time in the past, but find danikens' theories/conjectures largely unlikely. but i do find his books and associated tv programmes etc entertaining and am amused at how the most feeble suggestions are promoted as 'facts'

but i appreciate some find such suggestions compelling and i can live with that, after all some religious beliefs are no less far-fetched.

When I first saw this documentary, I found it absolutely riveting. Since then, I have read a Wikipedia article that mainly discredits it. Nevertheless, it is still worth viewing for the entertainment value alone.

This film is over 50 years old.

When this came out you could still walk on and around all these wonders without thousands of people and vendors around. You could really take it in I and have some time to to ponder "why and how" without being surrounded by cruise ships full of people there just to get content. I wish I could see all of these places especially then before they were restricted. I love the work of Eric Von Danikan and believe all of his theories.

every literate person should watch this video.

the music composer must hate the viewer. he's trying to destroy our ears the entire film. either that, or this score was composed by someone who had never seen and instrument nor heard music before. it's just dissonance. it's only dissonance. sci-fi scores should just be ascending major chords, it's always works, and it sounds like awe, not "uh oh." the score was as annoying as the sound my fridge makes when I leave the door open too long. the score was just a long series of alarming sounds. not suspense, just noise. i'm upset that this composer is likely dead, and that he will never face justice for this audio crime. what awful director would let this happen? i have to give up, I can't stand it. I can't listen to a word over the racket...

It was the book that got me interested in all things alien...past and present. I still have a VHS video of this documentary I taped from TV decades ago... it's a shame that things have been omitted from this one here....it was this documentary back when 1st aired that I found out about Nazca Lines and it wasn't shown here. I urge anyone who has not seen this documentary before this one to find the uncut version. But I just want to sincerely thank Sci-Fi Central for uploading this ...it is a classic and should never be forgotten..thank you xxxx

It's crazy to think this has been out since the 70's.. I'm just now discovering this film in my 30's. Man, being raised in a strict religious home, I wish I would have known about this film sooner. Trying to awaken the rest of my family to the actual TRUTH. Brings a hole new meaning to the verse, "and the truth will set you free".
